Wow, heard this on the radio just a few mins ago and it sounded so ace, really exiting and dramatic. It actually gave me butterflies it was so good. It amazes me that something so old can sound so bloody good, it was easily the best thing i have heard all week. IMO it is everything a record should be, i could not keep still! :)

What oldie do you love and why? I am not thinking for personal reasons, more so you hear it and it just sounds great.

:)

Two spring to mind..

Rose Royce - Wishing On A Star, just for how pure she manages to sing it, it sounds like a really highly polished recording, done on recent digital equipment, even thought it isn't.

Jackson Sisters - I Believe In Miracles, it's so funky and with 2 copies, you can prolong the intro bit, teasing it in just every now and again :D

Shouldn't this be in Music Chat?

Can you feel it for me too.

Diana Ross (Love Hangover), which has one of the greatest breakdowns ever, in my opinion.
Stevie Wonder (Another Star)

I could list quite a few songs here, i agree with you about the jacksons thou. especially micheal jackson who is quite simply a musical genius, one of the most talented musicians and performers that ever lived.

one of my all time favs has gotta be Bill Withers - Aint No Sunshine
the man's a song writing genius. there's quite a few of his i could have chosen (such as use me, harlem, Lovely day, Lean on me, just the two of us etc) but this is a personal fav just for the simplicity of it, says so much with so few lyrics, and the mans just got soul runnin through his viens and imo proves that with this song.

(not sure of he's dead or not to be honest thou, so maybe i should be talkin in past tense about him, but never mind eh lol) :$

i think if ya sat back and thought about the old soul, motown and blues era they'd be hundreds you could list.

that'll do for now me thinks
