well wow what a night. the place opened at 9pm and if u got there at 10.00 u wasnt getting in. ive never seen owt like it

it jus goes to show how over the past 13 years maximes has been the daddy mac in the north of england. i personally owe a lot to the place. if it wasnt for it then i wud never have gotten into old skool as i would never have had the opportunity to hear such tunes.

the first time i stepped in the place was 1998, before then i was into crap like paul van dyke and fatboy slim etc as i didnt know any better lol. and from the minute i stepped foot in the doors and heard all these new old tunes like risky, asha, jinny etc i was hooked.

and if i would have known what that one visit would have caused over the next 7 years and beyond i would have said slappa my thigh and call me jethro.

if it werent for that place i would never have started this site up, i would never have started dj'in in fact i dont know what id be doing now id prolly b a bin man or summet lol

and from the place that got me hooked all them years ago and then startin the site up and findin loads of other mad heads jus like me i thought wow things dont get much better than this. well they did. in 2003 i only ended up playing there

for 2 years i had the pleasure of playin to the maximes massive month in month out. had some great times that i will never forget. dream come true? erm yep think so

respect to mr hypnotic for a damn fine show and for given me the opportunity to play there. respect to all the dj's and a extra special big reeespect to jonesy for lettin me drop a tune in last night was an honour.

end of an era but some fuckin great memories gained. bttos we salute u

I had a really good night on Saturday .. it was amazin to see so many people queing up outside and it was packed inside when we arrived.

Such a shame this was the last back to the old skool.. even though I havent been many times I have always enjoyed it

We all had a really fab night and Butty was made up to be able to put a final back to the old skool tune on at Maximes and we all know who to thank for that thanks to Tez for driving and Rick for just being you - your the best

was really torn between maximes and hazy this weekend, and although i had a fantastic nite, a part of me wishes i'd gone there aswell

Maximes was the first proper nite i'd ever been to and it soon became and addiction, didnt miss a single B2OS nite for 2 years!! and i remember as if it was yesterday, being sat down mashed to fook, and butty saying i'm gonna dj here one day lol gwan son phones:

i fully agree tho, huuuge respect to Gary H, all the djs and people who helped make that place legendary ive had some of the best nites of my life in that place, NYE 2000 and Nippers last set Oct 99 instantly spring to mind, and Sy in Nov 99 (when the little fellas were these mad little blue nikes with mad crystals in them lol)

its a shame that one of the original nites is no longer going, and scouse house shite will be polluting those phat arse speakerage in future:S
its just a good job oldskool is booming in places other than wigan i spose

me an my mate went an we had a brilliant night

the que was huge which was a bit puzzling why finnish such a popular night?

been going for years now an have had some fantastic nights and saturday was no exeption. the tunes on the whole were quality, shame they were repeated once or twice

the atmosphere on the dancefloor was buzzin.

had a dance with claire b in the "cool" bit which was well good. an butty the tune ya dropped were quality

well what can i say? night was top,seemed to me that was the most people i remember seein in the queue ever.caught up with loadsa people i aint seen for ages(wazza n crew,ya large.lol) respect to moggy for the lift,thanks to dave p n his mrs.for the vodka.good to see butty n claire b,oh n thanks to maximes itself for the memorys n meeting my old mate nicole,who i hadnt seen for 10 years,at a back to the old skool night all them years ago

I went down for a lil bit wiv my mate Jacko, got there round about the time Rick Jones was just starting his set. The atmosphere was immense, everyone was raving their ass off! I was amazed to see how many people where there but I'm also disgusted to see the night finishing for Bouncy House every week. Suppose business is business though and I'm sure there will be an event just like it in a club near very soon.

IMO there was no need to stop. More events have started up over the last few years because of maximes. Instead of it getting stale, it should of got more involved and varied!

If even half the people that turned up on the last one would have turned up regularly then ther would have been no argument it would have continued.

As it stands the numbers didnt add up and there was no way the night was going to be run into the ground.

It will be remembered in all the right ways now rather than a dead horse being flogged time over. No doubt there will be one off back to the old skool events which will keep the vibe alive !!

And lastly a personal thanks to all that attended the last night to make it what it was and to everyone thats attended over the past thirteen years
