hey ppl....

i know theres a lot of ppl collect "zone" tunes but i was wondering if anyone on the board could list songs not particularly specific to The loveshack in Blackpool but tracks that were played there ....

Any suggestions welcome.....

my all time fav was alpha dy - chicago trip but there must be loads of tracks i can hunt down from that club n time...

Any help MUCH appreciated

Once went there back in 91 or 92.The only tune what sticks in me head is tell me why by expose for some reason.

I remember a big black chap at the raised bit at the side of the dance for with the biggest bag of disco biscuit i`ve ever seen in me life.

well where do i start

some guy with no top on standing on a box in the middle of the dancefloor doing big fish little fish cardboard box lol

Loveshack

Loveshack, a place close to my heart, spent a large part of 92 in there, loved it though like most places got a bit s*** towards the end, went back a couple of times before it shut and it just was not the same, evan tried the new nights in the venue that came after it like Exit hoping for something lol. how sad is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When on form it was top, the thing I liked was the variety of tunes played, still a very Blackpool/Lancashire sound but with harder stuff thrown in aswell.

The only bad thing I remember was a mass fight/riot on central car park afterwards one night, that was an experience hammered

Depends which year you're looking at Neil fella re: the tuneage. 91 was kinda the same stuff as Hacketts (cos most of the peeps moved to Love Shack when it shut :|)

92 they got their own style - big fat fukkin piano tunes LOL DJ's (Spaceface & Jagger) were fukkin spot on - played what the crowd wanted, not just what was new.....

Reckon I can name 90% of both their collections heheheh spent many an hour pestering em for ID's :$ LOL I can even remember what came after what in the sets

Will make a list when I get a sec....

i dont remeber any agro , it encapsulated everything i wanted in a club , top music , wikkid atmosphere and an intimate venue...

probably went about 30 times on a saturday over 1991 and 1992.

Would have done anything to get in that club. And nearly did ??!!

Do you remember Ken the big owner?

Well once drove over to Blackpool and the club was full and there was no way the bouncers were going to let us in. Fuck that we thought, knowing this was going to be one of the best nites of our lives.

I tried it on with the bouncers, said that Ken knew us and would let us in. They said tough he's not here, he's having dinner at his hotel.
They told us which hotel it was so me and my mate set off in a taxi. All we knew of Ken was hugging him E'd up say fukin best club ever.

Now i had my suspicions that Ken liked the boys and my mate i was with was a pretty boy.

So in we walks into a big posh hotel in Blackpool, cant remember the name, the grand or metropole or something.

Me and my mate chewing gum with grins from ear to ear looking aroung this big posh resturant for Ken.

We spots him and walks over and i says 'Hi, Ken its us from the loveshack, its full and they wont let us in'.


Sit down, he says dead pissed off. Don't ever bother me when i am eating ever again.

No no we wont were sorry.

He chills a bit and says seen as you are here you can wait for me to finish my meal and ride down to the loveshack with me.

OK YES YES YES

So we have a drink and chat to Ken whilst he finishes his meal.
Anyway he says that he will let us in the club if my mate comes back to the Hotel with him after the club closes for a drink.

Yes yes of course he will i say.

Anyway my mate goes along with it and sure enough 20 mins later we are pulling up outside the shack with Ken. Steps out of the car and walk straight in with him.

The bouncers faces where priceless.




Had a fukin top nite and left with my mate rather sharpish at 2 before Ken saw us. Fukin mad.
