Hey John

I have the 23rd August mix but it seems to have been missed when I uploaded them. I am uploading now.

I'm also in the middle of getting together all the Zammo Studio sets, the unconfirmed stuff that wasn't from a tape and I also have the Floatation mix as well (Rhumba 1 is part of those and its not gret quality). I didnt want to clog up this folder at the moment but will link those also at a later date.

The Zammo studio sets are the ones I know there are a few missing, from pics and early tapes I used to have. Been struggling to track them down.

As for Zammo from OMT, I dont have any of that in the master files. They did have some issues with the recordings from that room.

I also have a load of Wildlife tapes to rip later this year when Wayne brings them across. Links to them will go up here.

*nods" ok, That's sound, Sean.

Re Studio Mixes - I mainly collected the Rhumba tapes, along with records. I think I only had the May 92 studio mix, with a cream cover.

To be honest, there were so many good tapes out at that point in May 92, I never really listened to Zammo. There was an excellent Robbo pure juice tape, Sasha / CJ Mix Mag 3, and so many good Rhumbas through the summer of 92, that poor old Zammo never got a look in.

Teer and I had an excellent summer of 92 listening to those tunes. I seem to remember "Simone's Hey Fellas" being on that Zammo May 92 tape though. I think anyway (going from ailing memory here..)

Anyhoo, I 'm gonna give this a break for a while; the last 10 days have been fun though listening to the old tunage.

Hats=off to you boys by the way. I dunno where you find the time for all this. phones:

Re Rhumba 1, I cannot even remember what is on Rhumba 1 at all - but I agree, I seem to remember the quality was pretty poor. It's a pity Rhumba 2 is not that good quality either...that tape is spectacular - especially the second side.

Peace out,
Jono

Sorry, Brady. I was positive that it was on a tape from then that was a studio mix, you sure it's not near the end though? Maybe it was a Rhumba from that time instead; i must be mistaken.

It must of been on one of the tapes though, as I distinctly remember buying the record as a result. (I remember that bit clearlyphones:.)

Anyhoo, any chance of uploading the whole mix for a listen - I need to refresh the grey cells? No bother if not.

Peace
Jono

26.04.91

Hi Brady

Rhumba 26.04.91

Side 1:

3. Mad Tim K & Crazy Skip - Love is the Message [Hip Street]
11. Level 2 - I Feel you, baby. (Club Mix ) [Out Records] 'Join the Party Line'

Side 2:

13. Bocca Juniors - Substance [Junior Boys Own] "Give me some substance, once more the feeling"

Peace
Jono

This is a ripper of a tape by the way. Defines the Rhumba in my opinion. There's a few songs on side 1 that are really bugging me, especially "time is an invention, now is a reality." Teer had this tune, but I cannot remember what it is called.

Kurtis Blow

yeah, the Kurtis Blow track is awesome. I also like India and Magic Marmalade. Absolute Classics, and so is Joy Salinas. I would love to hear someone do an up to date mix of all these funky tunes.
