165mph has been recorded in the Cairngorm Mountains today:eek:

And check this out of a wind turbine that looks like the motor has burnt out. Like a scene out of a disaster movie:eek:

Here's the winds at Nevis Range blowing the chairlifts about. It's really strange seeing a resort getting caught out with chairs left on the cable when such strong winds are forecast:crazy:

And the weather in Scotland is normaly so pleasant!?!

I have been skiing a couple of times in Scotland and it has always been at least 100 mph winds. Not like skiing in Europe, u have to be tough as fook to ski in Scotland (or at least full of whisky!!!).

You do get good and bad days in any mountain range anywhere in the world, but i'll be honest and say Scotland (in particular) and Scandinavian resorts have more than their fair share of bad weather days with flat light or wind. If you can ride/ski there then you're ready for anywhere:thumbsup: :D :beer:
