I can see both sides to this, but it's sad she wasn't given enough 'free' time to grieve. I guess old fashioned values aren't profitable and healthy profit is nearly always put before happy (or contented in this case) customers in most cases.

Yeah i kinda thought the same too, as horrible as it is, its a business and they need to get so many per day through the doors in a set number of hours..

But it's an EMOTIVE issue here...

This is the worst kind of sensationalistic gutter journalism which I despise.
"Mum fined..." hardly... they charged her for the time, sure, but it's hardly a "fine" is it.

Not saying I agree with it mind you cos I don't at all.

The funeral parlour (or crematorium or whatever) are in a difficult position though because if they didn't put some sort of limits or rules on this sort of thing, people would invariably take the piss.

The article doesn't say whether the woman was made aware of the charges at the time, which would seem like the simplest solution, although it would be incredibly delicate to handle...

IMO the crematorium or wherever should make some changes to their layout & their processes, to provide an area where people can go afterwards to grieve, with no charges or time limits or restrictions placed on them. Frankly I'm amazed if there isn't an area like that already. Most have them.

But I think you also have to take this article with a big pinch of salt, because it reeks of unscrupulous journalists spinning the facts to make them sound as bad as possible.

Hmmmm, good point Chrisserbelle, a good bit of advice i was told as a kid, is to remove the emotive statements from any written piece and see if the substance remains intact...

On the face of it, it does seem cruel, but I would have to agree with Sheikh, that for these kind of articles the headlines and story are generally written to make the event seem as shocking as possible. Terrible for any parent to lose a child though, especially so young. Ed
