I'm not naming names (you know who you are wankers)
But it seems to be happening to me more and more on here that people post wants, so you go and dig through 10,000 tunes and find it and reply back saying yes I have it, and the fuckers either don't reply or they say ok cheques in the post or paypal you today, only never to hear from them again.

IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF BUYING THE RECORD DON'T FUCKING POST A WANT!!!!!!!!DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND SEE HOW MUCH THE TRACK GOES FOR
CHECK EBAY AND CHECK GEMM AND EVEN CHECK DISCOGS AND SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE WANT IT, THIS GIVES YOU A RUFF IDEA ON HOW SCARCE IT IS.
SO DON'T POST A WANT FOR BLAME - SEAL VOCAL AND BE SHOCKED WHEN IT'S A BIT DEARER THAN A FIVER!!!!!

Sorry for the rant but it seems to be happening a lot lately. Anyone else found this to be the case?

Look mate, if people dont want to pay prices that you have artificially bumped up because you consider them "sought after" then dont get pissed off when people tell you to do one

We have some genuine decent sellers on here and you do not fall into that category IMO

Now do us a favour and fuck off

I think maybe you're just getting pissed off with the fact that you can't charge extortionate prices for certain tunes any more.

To take the example you quoted - the blame promo with the seal vocal, now the hype that was built up about this tune on a certain other forum has died down, and it's been bootlegged, the tune no longer fetches the £150+ prices it did last year. In fact you'd be lucky to get more than £50 for it now.

Not entirely sure a little outburst like that is going to do you much good as a seller.....

Probably sticking my bib in again, but..... (lol)

Whats the exact beef here? If the guy is saying people have contacted via a wants list, they say they want it, agree a price and then decide to sack it off for no reason after time and trouble digging it out etc, then I feel its a justified whinge.

However, if somebody is browsing the wants list and saying they have it, with no price in mind, then later get back saying its gonna be £120 its hardly fair to blame the wanter to say "WTF" and look elsewhere if its out of the budget they had in mind. We are not all made of money. Many people have a wants list, but are only prepared to pay a certain amount for it in thier own mind. Obviously they cannot put that ceiling amount in the wants for that would just be matched (even if it wasnt worth it) or the temptation for the seller to squeeze them a tad higher because they know they can.

If people are retracting a buy that had previously been agreed and therefore become total 'timewasters' then fair do's, but to pounce on them with what may be an unrealistic price out of thier budget out the blue and expect them to snap it up is just crazy - as crazy as it is to you why they turn it down.

I think its a fair complaint if people waste time this way, agreeing and saying its okay and 'doing one', otherwise, "thats life - thats what the people say" lol.

Cheerio

Sirius.

Excellent point there Sirius

Perhaps we are being too judgemental though - Essexboy, would it be possible for you to please give us some examples of the records you have loacted for people and the exact price you have quoted them?

Erm all i can add to this subject is my experience from running a record store.
People used to come in and order stock and not turn up for it and yes it burns but thats the breaks of running a business. It used to be the same when people would listen to records all day, taking up a spare deck, and then not buy summit  But the beauty of music is that generally someone else will take it off ya hands eventually, so dont get stressed :) Music is a luxury and people make daft promises to get elusive tunes, then realise that they may of bitten of more than they can chew financially.
If its worth money there will be another person along to take it off ya hands. All you are doing is makin less people want to deal with you if ya freak out at em as you certainly arent gonna be the only dude with the tune.

erm....here's my take.....

i'm not sure about the rest of you but i can say for myself that i know EVERY LAST FUCKING record in my collection. and i also know if i have multiple copies, and if any of those or even my last copy is for sale. now, i'm sure that some of you have far more vinyl than i do (had 5000+ before i started selling them off), but i believe that if i had twice that amount, i would still know whether or not i had something and if it was for sale. so, that being said.....how about you dig through your 10,000 records AFTER you settle on a price, and AFTER you receive payment rather than before. then you've wasted no more than a few keystrokes on the lousy person that backs out of deals.

Right Let me answer the replies
A) DJJAMMIII no it wasn't you.
B)Konspiracy you cock, go F**k yourself. You don't fucking know me so don't talk as if you do. I've never dealt with you so get some facts before posting! I've never had anyone complain about prices. Ask the people that have dealt with me. Wanker.
C)MIKE. Your wrong. I'm talking about the people that have already agreed to a deal and are alledgedly sending payment only never to arrive. Blame was just an example, I've never owned it (actually think it's shite) and personally would never spend more than £30 odd quid on any tune.
D)TURPIEAJ. I've got a copy you can have for a pound.
E) CAM. Take Konspiracy's cock out of your mouth.
F) Huxley - Apologies.
G) Amelie - Not gonna name and shame. people will know who to deal with and who not to. Luckily they are a minority.
H) JONNO - wtf?
I) Sirius - As above it's when all's agreed and they fuck you about. If someone has a want and you say I have it £10 +P+P then fine ignore or say no thanks.
J)JONNO - I don't locate, If I have it, it's for sale. I've sold Mr Fingers - Can you feel it Original £10. Dee Lite Wild Times (Mayday) £10. French Kiss - Diamond records £10. Tony G- Tony's Song £10. Jimmi Polo (DMC) £10. I think they were dirt cheap, but i'm sure someone will disagree.
K) I'm not running a business. Once I've sold all my tunes I'm gone.
L) lippiatte - I haven't bought a record for years. Most of my tunes were bought back between 1988-1994 and haven't been off the shelf in years so no I don't know what I have and what I did have and have sold.

And Lastly Once again Konspiracy you can F*** right off. The site doesn't need twats like you slagging people off when they post a message. You obviously aren't intelligent enough to hold a normal debate. COCK!
