Would it work?

Was thinking of getting time code vinyl or cd's and a touch screen for behind the decks. I have not got a clue if it would work or how the time code works with a traditional set up ie A&H S2 mixer etc.

Thanks. S the stupid one

yeah it would, absolutely work 100%
i was looking in to a hp tablet laptop last year but went t61p purely for the tougher build and higher processing power

Edit: Caveat, it will work for Traktor scratch pro, i aint tried serato, but i imagine library deck load and needle drag to position on the wave should work on serato

I just would be careful with touch screen products. Make sure you test this fully with a demo before you commit.

Personally, I think touch screen just wouldn't give you accuracy when moving faders etc

Could be wrong, but all am saying is get a feel for it first.

Check this out, this is a product called, "Emulator". Looks like fun. The Future of DJ'ing is here - YouTube

Thanks for the feed back, the intention would be to run the software through my traditional mixer and deck setup. The touch screen would simply be for track selection as I don't use effects etc.

Thanks. S

I'm like siman, the software element is purely track transport, ie simulating the traditional decks, and track storage / selection- the mixer is handled by good old analogue mixer, pitch, jog, nudge by controller, its essentially a fancy cdj set up with a fookin massive easily browsable track selection on hand.

As for the worry about touchscreen, its tried and tested, its how the Emulator works, its a large see thru touch screen with the controls back projected on to it, as you can see it works fine

It dont look good for Windows 8 tablets, but i've seen a few Wintel DJ's downgrade their new traditional laptops from 8 to 7 because of problems running the software in 8, so it could just be a problem with 8 in this vid.
Brown29's right this needs proper investigation before taking the plunge

Edit, Serato SSL is not based on MIDI, so Emulator isnt supported, but Serato DJ i think is...
Take a deeks, iir it's about £75 but all future upgrades are freemans - they are showing support for Win 8 tablets on there
