traktor2/external mixer usage

ez peeps im I correct in thinking that this is the correct way to cable up an external mixer to my pc for traktor2?

Enable 7.1 surround sound
use the two pairs of rear speakers for each channel connected via a 2xphonoto mixer to 1x 3.5 mm jack to each speaker out on soundcard.
for sound in to pc use 2xphono to 1x3.5mm jack to the mic on soundcard.

Does that sound right.

I would have thought it would go in your line-in rather than MIC-in on ur soundcard.

I dunno what the difference would be mic in or line in (I don't have a microphone, but if I did it would probably be routed thru the external mixer)

its the opersite way round


eg

trakter deck1 on mixing channel1 on your mixer
trakter deck2 on mixing channel2 on your mixer

so you need your soundcards outputs front L/R in mixing channel1 of your mixer and Soundcard Rear L/R in mixing channel2 of your mixer

then config trakter for 4 channel setup
