Dear Tribalists.
Firstly let me apologise for the delay. Recently, obstacles have been put in my path to try to prevent this event I am trying to put together from even happening, but it will only make our resolve a lot stronger to the people and organizations trying to prevent this show. I’m appealing to my friends and like minded clubbers in dance music to help me in any way they can.
Having been working very hard lately on a project very close to my heart, I thought it would be a good time to share with you the reasons why you probably haven’t seen me around too much of late. Having been invited to get involved in a huge fund-raising initiative which will be announced soon, I’ve been shown the suffering which is occurring in Sudan, it seems dance music can assume a vital role. Dance Musicians could unite together on a large scale in aid of people who are much less fortunate than ourselves. Obviously in order to make this show worthwhile it needs to be an historic show, something that would be remembered for many years to come.
As a promoter I have always tried to deliver the very best events for clubbers to attend but feel at this point in my promoting career it would be great for me to do a show which has a very real meaning behind it. This event is about saving the lives of people today, and future generations to come.
It is come with a long and hard decision that in order to raise the type of monies I wish to, Tribal Gathering needs to return to the fields. I know previously I have said that we would not do a multi arena outdoor show, as it seemed that Tribal Gathering had nothing to prove, or gain, out of it as it could be seen as a step backwards (due to the fact that Tribal pioneered this concept), but the nature of the cause is pulling me to make Tribal return to the outdoor stage on SATURDAY JULY 16TH (EXACTLY TWENTY YEARS AFTER THE HISTORIC "LIVE AID"). This will be Tribal Gathering's first outdoor show in 8 YEARS since the legenadary Kraftwerk show at Luton Hoo in 1997.
The site for this historic return will be close to Leeds, and is a very beautiful, very Tribal surrounding which will be the perfect backdrop for the event. The main reason for Tribal taking on an outdoor project again is that in order to raise a really substantial amount of money, we need a higher capacity of up to 15,000 people. Also, on the other hand I have never personally produced an outdoor show and feel I have a lot to offer to these type of events after attending most relevant outdoor dance shows in the UK over the past fifteen years. I am actually looking forward to it. I think the size of the show, will not make it too daunting and will create a more intimate atmosphere, than at some of the really huge festivals.
The event will feature three arenas which will all be individually themed, bringing and mixing together classic concepts and pioneering some really awesome new ideas, which will be announced very soon.
Over the past few months getting this event together has been very hard, not the least because we are asking artistes to play for no monies. There are a lot of events and well paid club nights that the following artistes could be playing on this day, but they feel that this is a cause worth being a part of and I can only thank them for their support.
We intend to put this show on sale in March. The earlier the event sells out the quicker we can allocate the proceeds to Sudan and start making a very noticeable difference. Please, please back this event and show the global community what dance music stands for.
I promise this event as with all tribal parties will be one to remember for a long time and at the same time will change state of people’s lives for generation to come.
A full confirmation will be announced next week with 25 acts already confirmed.
Please show your support of this show by replying to this mail, it will show these rogue dance organization/s that we will not be moved !!!!!
Peace
David Vincent xx
