Amelie - thats a brill pic, its so amazing to see but one that if you were to see that cloud formation in real life would strike terror into you.

I also found these pics of storms: was hard trying to pic one out to post, lol - http://wishes.debian.co.nz/images/?dir=spectacular/

Check out the ice storm pics............i promise no amount of de-icer is going to get your car going judging by those pictures!!!

So again Ice - can be ugly due to the danger it presents, but then again its beautiful with its formations and looks.
Mother Nature can be so harsh!

Good one Lozzie!

I'll go for Nukes...
unspeakably horrible & destructive yet truly awesome
Nukes all the way for me too. I fucking love em.

That one is the pic is a big one too; a thermonuclear "H" bomb, in fact if I was to hazard a guess I'd say that pic was either Castle Bravo or Castle Romeo, or just maybe Ivy Mike (they were the code names given to them; "Castle" was the operation, "Bravo" was the specific name for the explosion).

Castle Bravo was the biggest the US ever exploded at 15 megatons, which is truly huge; it's about 1000 times bigger than the Hiroshima bomb (which itself destroyed a city and killed 140,000 people!). Castle Bravo's explosion had more explosive power than all the ordinance used in World War's 1 and 2 combined; all of them combined! Bombs, shells, bullets, the lot! That is one truly huge explosion! The Russians exploded one even bigger called Tsar Bomba which was over 50 megatons, and that was a scaled down version of the original design at 100 megatons!

I'd would have loved to have seen one of those really big ones explode. In fact I'd love to have seen one of the smaller one's explode as they are pretty fucking impressive.

It won't happen again though; atmospheric nuclear testing. Iran may give it a go or North Korea, but they'll probably underground test. Either way it will only be the smaller fission bombs as well (although small is only relative when compared to the larger fusion devices).

The pic was Dakota actually. Not especially big (if memory serves) but wicked shockwave effects. Got loads of piccys of the 50's bikini tests if yer interested, some of em make crackin wallpaper.
