They are legal until the TV progs are for sell-through on DVD/VHS.

Up until such time as anything is broadcast, it is legal to download it from the net and watch it again.

You'll find most torrent sites are all private trackers though, so you HAVE to join them, unlike Torrent Spy.

Search on Torrent Spy for anything you can't find on UKNova as that gets a load of hits for things that have gone for sell-through.

There's a few private ones that you need an invite to like uk-t but I find the following two pretty useful for some UK stuff... its mostly US stuff but has plently of BBC3 and Sky stuff on there:
