Using the net at work.

Just wondering how many members use the net at work and are they riskin gettin in the sh1t by goin on it not for work purposes.


Iv had a reet bollockin by our I.T. Manager a couple of weeks ago for my internet usage, although he could of taken it further if he wanted to be a tw@t I suppose.

Cant believe Iv spent about the last 18 months filling my workin day lookin at crap sites, was buzzin to find OSA but now cant go on it works time.

Im now only supposed to use it for work stuff but Iv gotta police myself which is tuff.

To be fair I was spending about 80% of my workin day on the net balloonin but if you can get away with it your gonna do it.

Not had much chance to view the board in last couple of weeks

Yeah, Im awaiting a bollocking once the seasonal phone bill arrives at work .

I dont surf at work except for dinner times, but over the last two months I was on every day and the log will show it at 12.30ish, which cannot be passed off as checking for emails for half an hour every day lol.

They are so tight, that they will spot the usage, especially as they have some sort of 'box' installed on the phone cable that redirects to the cheapest call! Plus its only a 56k pice of shit, so it will say when and where it was used.

I still like to go on and check out whats happening here sometimes :$ , and the purposes I was using the msn and internet for at the time was definately worth getting in shit for at the time!!! :$ lol. I even had to get my thinking cap on, and set up a netwok proxy from the server so I could surf via my machine over the network!!!!!!!!!!! lol. I managed it though .

Yeah, you cant surf the net at work here very easily, its such a small place and theres always hawk eyes watching - besides, Im too god damn busy 90% of the time. I dont know how others get away with it!.

Now, Ive calmed it down as I dont really have need to anymore, but maybe twice a week......cos Im addicted to the internet, its my life and domain! lol.

Yeah I do, but we're pretty busy at the min, so don't get *much* of a chance to abuse it...

I'm lucky as I'm in 'admin' status on our network, so I have access to everything which is handy

Much better than in my old job, where we had to be sneaky and check peoples diaries for net passwords lol lol

I think I did take the piss, but I work in a boring accounts office and my boss whos more like a mate was just as bad as me.

To be fair if the I.T. Manager (He was moanin about bandwith etc) reported us to our Director we would be in deep shit.

We also wouldn't have a leg to stand on cos thats the thing with computers - everything is logged (At least I know I didn't look at 'dodgy' stuff at work, I wouldn't be supprised if my boss was lookin at eastern european donkey porn lol).

The only good thing is that I managed to d/load a load of OSA mixes which Im gonna listen to soon, only took minutes at work. Not even worth it at home cos the connection to slow.

I am our admin guy too so its me that controls IT in our firm. I dont like to abuse it though so limit myself to my dinner times and the first half hour to check my ebays etc.

Am always using internet for work reasons though

Same thing happend to me about 12mts ago... However I was lucky in the fact that our IT manager ownes a Lotus and my step dad gets him really cheap tires for it... So instead of grassin me up he just barred the old piano heaven url so that I could not get myslef in bother...

However since Butty switched the server over and we got the new URL Ive been really strict on myself and only come on at break time... Its well bad hard but for fear of no OSA Ive been a very good girl...
