Hi peeps. having a bit of a mare on my dads laptop.

Ive tried not to bug you lot again, but Ive tried two full nights on the trot with no luck.

Ive tried CWShredder, spybot, adaware, Norton Internet Security (that my dad bought), Trend Online Virus scanner, Avast Antivirus, HijackThis and some random ones I found that Ive never heard of..even though they may themselves be dodgy for all I know.

The one thats hit is "Allcybersearch" and "TIBS" and a few others which may be linked, such as TROJAN.AGENT.LB - Spm1316.dll.

Ive followed many a websites tutorials for removal, but I know the sp.dll and registery keys are still in there. many of the names and numbers it mentions to get rid of in the registery, and dll's and htmls to get rid of via windows explorer either arent there, or were unable to be deleted cos they are in use (mostly though, they werent there, the same names anyway).

The computer is snails pace, the desktop is stuffed and hijacked, the browser homepage hijacked etc etc, and the bastard just wont die!!.

Somewhere it mentioned running the antivirus in safe mode to delete the files that are 'running'......however, when I wish to use the Norton in safe mode it doesnt let me! . The online one wont work in safemode cos it wont go online, the Avast doesnt find anything, the CWShredder finds one single rogue file which reappears on reboot, and Hijack this finds a few, but again fails to remove them properly.

Im getting a bit stuck for idea's. The mass of rogue dll's and stuff in the registry etc is quite numbersome and a real ballache to manually serach and delete for via some dos intervention, I really need a tool of somesort that will definately clean the system and blast it of all the rogue virus's and tojans.

Any idea's? (apart from a format if possible)

Thanks

Sirius.

Have you tried the new microsoft anti-spyware sirius. It`s a beta version but it free. The links HERE if you want to give it a whirl it asks for a serial key but i just went for the enter serial key later option.

If it`s windows xp i think it`s a virius magnet.I put xp pro on my computer last week and have had numerous viruses this week. :(

Have you also tried AVG at www.grisoft.com it`s also free. :D

have you got "system restore" turned off Sirius? just viruses seem to like to hang out in there, then each time you delete em and reboot they are back, so try it with that turned off mate, also when booting in safe mode try the "safe mode with network support" wich will allow you to use online scanner/tro hunters etc, there is a proggy called cleanmypc which does a good job of sorting your registry out, as digthemusic said give that avg a try, its the only anti virus i use along with a few other bits and ive never had a problem, anyway good luck
