My wants list has took a reet good hammering lately :D managed to get some tough ones that Iv been after for too long.

Got alot at pretty good prices but a few have hurt me pocket  so Im puttin a monthly budget for meself now lol

Anyway that got me thinkin, is most peoples wants list gettin smaller or bigger ? (thinkin about tunes from a particular period of time - I tend to concentrate on 89-93)

Has anyone got a near complete collection of tunes with just a handfull of wants left to aquire?

Iv still got loads I want and am constantly educated but would love to get to a point when Im just after a handfull? Dont know if that is even possible :S

Hows your wants list lookin peeps?

I think I've got everything i've ever wanted (well apart from 1 which in the post to me at this very moment),
I've got all the tunes I wanted from back in the day,

I occasionally hear a recent "old skool" tape and hear something I've not heard before and like it so decide to buy it but thats it.

I thought I had a pretty good old skool collection and almost every track I ever wanted, until reading about some of the collections of the guys on here :)

I've learnt quite a bit as well

oh...........there's also them tune you'd want if you remembered them. I occasional buy collections and i'll listen to them all and occasionally i'll be like

OH MY GOD!!! I'M KEEPING THAT!!!

just thought actually, I'm addicted to buying different releases of tunes and collecting picture sleeves, there's actually 3 tunes I want which I don't have the genuine picture sleeves for.

I want dj d.lite picture sleeve, I also want the black & white writing P.S. of 4 for money "moment in time", I also want the silver sleeve of jt company "don't deal with us" as i've got the black jt one and the mad p.s. on beat club

I always find my wantlist meanders off in a different directions.

The usual chain of events is that I buy something by an artist I know and trust on a label that I have never heard of before.
I like that tune, so I go and buy another 1 or 2 tunes on that label, and after that I end up buying pretty much everything on that label.

I have found that an absolutely brilliant way to discover new artists that cater to my tastes.

Spot on that :D

Same with me, even down to co-producers, and anyone named on the release, I'll then take those names and seek out other releases, it just goes on, and on, and on, and on, and on

:D

i'm currently trying to put together THE QUINTESSENTIAL COLLECTION of downtempo/balearic/chill stuff.....which seems to be a never-ending quest unfortunately.

but i'm always open to any obscure suggestions. ;)

When i set out buying records my main aim was to get all stuff i heard played out at various nights and by various djs like butty, ben, ste etc.

I never thought that in just over a year i have nearly all of my most wanted. A few are still evading me but i am sure they will pop up. I am now currently trying to get more into italian tunes and am looking for inspiration as to wat i add to my wants list next.

Why dont you start a topic on downtempo/balaeric start with some of your stuff then we could all add to it , I'd like to see what other folk consider to be essential in this genre...
