It can be of any genre, from anytime- no rules.

For me it would have to be Smashing Pumpkins with their lovley '1979'. It is to me, what Teenage Kicks is (or was) to John Peel. I don't know if i was seduced by the video, the beauty of the lyrics all cryptic and needing picking apart- or the rather sad yet uplifting meloncholy (sp?) of the music itself dedicated to the fantasticness (is that a word? If not it should be!) that is adolecence. The getting drunk off a few mouthfulls of cider, the being stoned for the first time, the whole sneaking the boy you thought you were really honesly going to spend the rest of your life with into the house you were babysitting at for a few (not so) innocent fumblings and breathless promises. For me its the exitment and terror of being a teenager and not yet knowing who you are, that awkwardness yet nonchalance that the lucky bastards have. Youth basically- god i miss it.

Anyway, thats my fave. You don't have to give a reason, but whats is your greatest track of all time?

:)

I have 2 favourites:

I love DeBarge - 'Rhythm Of The Night' because it reminds me of never ending, hot sunny days and girls in my youth

I also love Deniece Williams - 'Let's Hear It For The Boy' after a big bunch of strange girls sang it to me on holiday, when I was younger  :D

They both remind me of the very happy times in the mid 1980's, when there didn't seem to be any trouble in the world :D

My two all timers (at the moment) are :

OMD - Enola Gay
Fergal Sharkey - A Good Heart.

OMD as I like all that 80s pop synth stuff
Fergal Sharkey as it reminds me of the times when I was a shy love struck 13 year old who just found masterbation and wore cheap after shave when I never had a hair on my face:cool: we've all been there lads eh?

Ive not got a fave song ever cos it changes all the time but one I just thought of then whilst having a big slurp of chenin and a sensations oriental cracker (fk me I do drag it out) is

Michael Jackson - We're almost there

Its dead romantic and funky and cheesy in a 'love boat series' kind of way:love:

Check it out, big bassline, amazing strings and of course brilliantly sung vocals that mean loads:thumbsup:
