ahh confusion hehe, they tried to bring it back a couple o month ago at halo....think it didnt do too well...think thats coz of the venue as nice as it is its all over for halo...had offer to do joy their, was tempted to do a 1 off just coz i liked the venue so much, i love church's that are made into clubs, reminds me of Hard Times in Hudds, used to know steve raine btw (HT promoter, lived round corner from me, gave me all sots of stuff, still got the ltd edition HT staff t shirt.
He used to go to the place where me and tots had the ilegal raves, and that was the reason why he started HT in the first place as mad as it sounds...

Tony Hannon.

I don't know why he changed from Kaos to Soak, as I reckon the Kaos nights were better. I think Soak was supposed to be the more garage-y version. Remember a couple of Kaoses from autumn 1990 at Leeds Poly with Sasha and Laurent Garnier, about the time of Mr Monday - Future and Sasha doing a two copy cut-up of Everybody Dance Now.

As far as I know, Angels opened in 1973. I think it was northern soul and disco right up until the mid 80's, had a pop session and then found house alongside its Northern soul and disco nights.

As for when the dance music/house music started there, Id have to guess at late '88 early 1989, probably more 89 though Id say cos its in the grotty outbacks lol.

Maybe somebody can confirm this info - as ofcourse this is the tales and recolections of a few peeps from the Lancashire area. Dont know how youd find out for definate.

I used to be good pals with all the burnley lot who worshipped angels, was once at one of their parents before we went clubbin their (this was 1994 so bit hazy on memorys) and my mates dad said it was a mod club before it was dance...then when PT and his bum chum came along and changed all that, northern soul and then house. was good in its early house years, one of the best then it went all poo in 1996ish when the introduced the dress codes and just killed it.still got the promo vid they did in 95 or 94 with live pa by asha on it plus me lookin like a idiot on the dance floor
