Suckers aren't we.... swapped all my vids for DVDs.... & then a few years later the new whippersnapper kid on the block comes along & punches DVDs cock off... :(

Well... I'm assessing my collection for those that I can live with in normal DVD or wouldn't benefit from hi def...

These are Blu Ray Must Haves for me offa the top of my head...

Star Wars box set
Disney / Pixar (espesh Cars / Nemo)
Predator (was watching it at daft o'clock on telly last night n thinkin how good it would be in hi def)
LOTR trilogy
Constant Gardener (top African topography)
Amadeus

More when I think about it properly...

Can they be played in PS3 ?

Yes mate, as long as you stick to that region-free section they'll play in any player. It's handy to check there, coz some of the films aren't out in the UK yet. I got Goodfellas from there a couple of months back for 12.99 and it's now 17.99 from play.com :axe: :D

Good website movietyme have bought r1 dvds of them for years.
Makes buying dvds fun when the film hasnt been shown at the cinemas in the uk and more often than not its cheaper than buying r2 dvds.

Save your money and just watch the DVD's mate!

Not worth the extra imo.

If the film is good I would watch it on vhs and 14" portable and still enjoy it!

Ive had a 42" tv for years now so much better for watching films and playing games etc.
Do you sqiunt link a chink when watching your 14" portable.;)

it doesnt work with all dvd players and some discs are region code enhanced which is a extra region code of sorts.

Certainly true with older films, but one of the best upgrades for me has to be surround sound:cool:

Don't have it at the moment as the system fooked up, but listening to the opening of the Lion King on a 5.1 surround system really was a moving experince:cool:
