why i hate microsoft more than anything

a million and one software updates all of which seem to just balls my pc up more and more. I can't keep up with it. What a bunch of crap. Why can't they just release one OS that isn't riddled with holes and bugs and then I wouldn't have to clog my harddrive up with tons of huge updates. Todays barrel of laughs is my built in sony dvd burner on this laptop has just stopped working. like that. It won't see any blank dvds and keeps telling me there isn't one in the drive. THERE F**KING IS I CAN SEE IT IN THERE.
I hate it. bring on the revolution. burn gates at the stake.

dvd drive problem? Why you blaming windows?

Mate here at work had exactly the same problem with his Powerbook last week. After he'd moaned for a couple of days he followed my suggestion of just cleaning the lens - job done.

i'm blaming windows

cause the drive used to work and it still reads blank cds. surely if it was knackered it wouldn't read anything. Any advice is greatfully exxcepted though. How should I clean the lens?

i just fished out a old cd cleaning cd i have and run it and it seems to have done the trick. Nice one fella and sorry mr gates :$ weird one though cause this laptop is only a month old!!!! thanks for the advice ruffers I owe you one mate
