Whats Wigan Pier like?

A mate asked me if i wanted to go in a few weeks, he is organising a bus. Is it Welly and Bowa on the decks and if so whats the music, club and atmopshere like?

You can't go wrong with a night at the pier mate, it's been a quality night there for longer than I can remember!

the resident djs are welly / bowa / mikey b ... but bowa left a few weeks back .. and no m8 it aint old skool .. its bouncy hard house and if your lucky some one may throw on a few classics but thatll be it ... tis a top top night tho ... bit ruff at times , but still a topp night (well it was last time i went but that was bout 9 month ago!!!)

Used to go all the time and it was a top night out - Its hard bouncy house as Ben says withth odd classic or classic remix thrown in nowadays but if your into the tuneage you cant go wrong.

Its alright mate.

i go most weeks ben trengrove also djs there.its always a good night never had a bad night there never usually any trouble.you dont get any old skool apart from the end of the night when they usually play wand -happiness,poppers -every little time,monster jam-rock to the rythem,hardplayers-joy of music.

its a small club always packed friday and saturday.for me its the best layout of a club ive ever been to with the dj box upstairs in the top corner.

if you go i would reccomend saturdays theres a bit more of a older crowd.fridays it gets taken over by scousers last time i went on friday to see rozella doing a p.a there must have been about 80% of scousers.saturdays its uasually people from bolton,manchester,warrington etc.

Wait till Park Hall re-opens! the layout there, if its still the same, was 'shit hot', hopefully it will be as good as it was way back when........................................................!!!

whats happening to park hall never been before.will it be reopening again as a dance club it .i think it would be a good chance for someone like hypnotic to start a night there.

p.s zone crew if your going this weekend on friday its piers 12th birthday with apollo "dance with me " on stage.
last years birthday about 400 got locked out so be early if your going

i went to 'Wigan Piers' birthday last year, absolutely packed and I had a wicked night! Only just got in mind, alot got turned away!
As for Park Hall, dunno precisely whats happening with it, only its reopening its doors on October 31st.
I think 'Hypnotic' have done nights at the Park before, If I remember rightly, Gary's the man to confirm that!!

Sirius m8 - Monster Jam!!! That brings back proper pier memories!!

The only prob with Hypnotic nights, just my opinion by the way, is that theres trance played which I just aint into. I was a bit dissapointed by the plan for the sequins night cos I thought it'd be mix factory and it turns out it aint. Course, Rick and the other dj's are all spot on but seeing that there is gonna be 'FloorFillaz' played just aint my cuppa as I reckon its pretty much a Maximes night.

Just my opinion though!!!

paccers mate the back to the old skool night at maximes they dont play trance well not whenever ive been n e ways dontcha mean the hypnotic nights they do at halifax and north n that coz they play sum trancey type tunes there altho i wudnt really call it trance i enjoyed it n e ways for summet diffrent im gonna drag ya arse there sutmime n if u have a shitter of a night then u can slap me with a peice of wet fish but maximes is the club in wigan innit not the nights they do elsewhere - ouch my head hurts with all that thinkin now :Axe:

Am sure ya right mate, Yeah I suppsoe I wasnt really targetting the Back to the oldskool nights in my barrage lol, Mainly moaning about that Sequins thing and in fact just moaning in general lol

I was also mainly chatting about the Halifax and North nights (only going off what Ive been told mind) but I'll take a up on that and get me arse into gear and check you aint telling me porkies lol!

Just in case, what fish d'ya prefer??

Right you are Biskit.
We did used to do nights at Park Hall. Enjoyed it too.
The Sequins night will be 90% Old Skool , and seeing as XTC is the only one still DJing from Mix Factory we couldn't invent someone could we. The other DJ's have either been resident in Blackpool or on Old Skool nights.
Floorfillaz is a night based on music which is just that. Old and New dancefloor fillers - good old fashoined hands in the air whistle blowing anthems.
Try it Paccers , you never know you might like it.

Why not try it yourself Tim.

You have time and time again given the five star to two of the dj's that are on there so do you think they will be playing any differently than normal just because the night's in blackpool ??

No I dont think the location changes anything, I was just saying that the 'Floorfillaz' thing put me off cos Id be told that this related to mainly newer tuneage.

Like ya say, I rate 2 of the DJ's very highly so maybe im wrong...My hangover hurts too much to think about it lol!!

I'll certainly give the Halifax etc ones a go sometime - Cant go critiscising without witnessing now can I.
