Windows media player prob grrrrrrrr

Seems ever since I installed codec packs or could be since I had that kin PIF file my WM player won't work

I've dl new install exes (9 & 10) n tried to install over the top but get an error msg sayin they are incompatible with my version of windows (xp) ???

Any help appreciated pls

nice one Andy how do I bin WM ? I've tried to find a way of uninstalling but can't find a way

Also some streaming sites seem to need WM/DirectShow for it to work ?? Any ideas ?

just set the new player as your default for everything, think that vlc thing plays wma files so your sorted

if you want to totally remove it go in add/remove progs & then click the add/remove windows components bit & untick it in there and do the next etc

Shooms i maybe stating the obvious mate but that pif file was more than likely a virus bud. One of the give aways is that fact that your media player wont work as its one of the things it does to your pc.

Cant quite remember the virus name but i would check ya system for any other damage just in case bud
