norton is giving alarm bells off and saying block connections from this program on all ports.

i really wanna watch me film man:dummy:

ok open your control center for norton, you can prob do this by double clicking on the firewall icon near the clock in your task bar.

Then open the firewall setting or search around for programs that are allowed access to the internet and select dr divx to be allowed access then click apply youll be right

also bear in mind norton is totally shit, will not pick up a lot of viruses and it gets its signatures about 24 hours later than other security vendors, also its very process hungry on your PC as well and just running in the back ground will eat at your PC process.

If your really scared about security get AVG free edition and Zone Alarm and Adware thats all youll need,

Also when you take of norton youll probably have to clean your registry as it doesnt like uninstalling proper, thats how wank it is, its nearly as bad as AOL but not quite.

Anyway ive just got all that info off a mate as well ;)

Its cool, he works for a Security Vendor so he knows his shit, but try this.

Go to the Norton icon near the clock, if your not sure which one it is, hover over it with the mouse and it will say norton, right click on it and select close or shut down and turn the whole thing off.

Then open the video itself and you shouldnt be behind a firewall, once youve watched the film and downloaded the codec once you reboot your PC your firewall will be back on and hey presto :)

OOOOOOOOOO I get by with a little help from my friends ;)

Hiya

You could try this.

Uninstall the divx codec.

Go here http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/

Download the one for your operating system(presumably windows)

Save it

Run the program

When it comes up with Select Additional Tasks, leave the tick in Decode all supported fourCC's and press next.

This will play most Avi's and will not ask for access to the internet like divx.

Hope this helps :D
