What are your experiences and memories from raving/clubbing through the winter months? I look back fondly on some of the nights i had in the depths of winter, especially at outdoor parties. Often the still, cold weather helped increase the atmosphere and techno always seemed far more approprate to cold foggy nights and mornings. I remember a number of nights making it to the car and peeling off wet-through t shirts with chattering teeth and then the blissful feeling of sliding on a fresh warm jumper or fleece.

2 nights stand out distinctly for me, both new years eve nights. Firstly NYE 1992/93 at a DiY party between Bath and Bristol. Arriving about 2am to find a crowded marquee in the middle of a freezing field. Lots of people stood about while the marquee inside was full of sweaty revellers. After asking about realised that pillage was thin on the ground so settled for some blotters and hash and spent most of the night in the car smoking and drinking.. not what i had planned! Still it was a good night and went for a wobble in the morning which was fun. The whole area was wreathed in a fine hanging mist which made for many a confused/tripped out raver.. Lots of mixes from this night.

The 2nd night was at another free doo (Lazyhouse i think) near Banbury, Oxfordshire NYE 1993/1994. Had been to a club in Worcester earlier in the night and therefore didnt get to this paryt until around 4am. Secured some biscuits and proceeded to dance the rest of the night/morning away in a very strange fashion indeed, The party was in a derelict bulding of sorts tucked away on a travellers site in the woods. Very muddy and very cold but lots of warmth being passed around from the people inside.

Got any memories?

Went to Total Recall in London, warehouse party early 91 and it was absolutely freezing. The warehouse was cold ie you needed a coat but the chill out area took its name too literally. A group of 3 of use went up, que'd for hours besides a dodgy scrapyard with massive dogs and ended up nicking coats from anywhere in order to keep warm.

Good old East End London raves, dodgy as hell but salt of the earth and truely hardcore!!

A coach load of us went to Kinetic (93/94ish I think). The whole coach plus loads more didnt get in, it was snowing so was very cold. Someone with a booming car stero opened his boot, fired the tunes on. Everybody got off the coach started dancing in the car park, probably about 100 to 150 people throwing down some shapes, it was great. Nobody seemed to notice the cold. When the club shut 2/3a.m it went mental 500+. Even the police seemed to be enjoying it, they did keep there distance but did have the little snowball fight with us. Anyone else on here there?

You lot going on about Skegness, went there once for the mother of all parties.....The Living Dream early 1992, about a dozen arenas with the party taking over the whole of the Butlins (think it was butlins) holiday park. Was complete madness. I seem to remember Kiss FM having a big part in it and I have got the radio ad for it somewhere.

Completely off track as usual!!
