What are your experiences and memories from raving/clubbing through the winter months? I look back fondly on some of the nights i had in the depths of winter, especially at outdoor parties. Often the still, cold weather helped increase the atmosphere and techno always seemed far more approprate to cold foggy nights and mornings. I remember a number of nights making it to the car and peeling off wet-through t shirts with chattering teeth and then the blissful feeling of sliding on a fresh warm jumper or fleece. 2 nights stand out distinctly for me, both new years eve nights. Firstly NYE 1992/93 at a DiY party between Bath and Bristol. Arriving about 2am to find a crowded marquee in the middle of a freezing field. Lots of people stood about while the marquee inside was full of sweaty revellers. After asking about realised that pillage was thin on the ground so settled for some blotters and hash and spent most of the night in the car smoking and drinking.. not what i had planned! Still it was a good night and went for a wobble in the morning which was fun. The whole area was wreathed in a fine hanging mist which made for many a confused/tripped out raver.. Lots of mixes from this night. The 2nd night was at another free doo (Lazyhouse i think) near Banbury, Oxfordshire NYE 1993/1994. Had been to a club in Worcester earlier in the night and therefore didnt get to this paryt until around 4am. Secured some biscuits and proceeded to dance the rest of the night/morning away in a very strange fashion indeed, The party was in a derelict bulding of sorts tucked away on a travellers site in the woods. Very muddy and very cold but lots of warmth being passed around from the people inside. Got any memories?
