Can anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial (or offer advice) on copying, erm, backing up DVD-9 games like "Halo 2" and "Yager" to DVD-5?

& there's a shit load of stuff on the afterdawn forums too, used that top one before on a mates who has it all networked up and works a charm

cheers matey... typcial tutorial that tho. I'm after one that describes the file formats and what tools you can use for decompressing/ripping demos/movies etc.
yeah thats the sort of thing. I'm trying to figure out which formats do what and which ones I can strip or compress or re-encode etc. Bit of a new thing for me and it seems to be one of the black arts at the moment and I can't find much on it.
In the meantime I discovered a cheap and nasty way of doing it... just download a version from the web, they seem to be compressed enuff to fit on a DVD-5 disk
My copy of Halo 2 is 5 GB but the downloaded version is 4.3 GB.
It would be nice to do it myself tho.

Think the groups who release the games often strip some movie scenes out because I downloaded Pro Evo Soccer & it was just the game, no entrance scenes etc...Probs why there's not a lot on the net about it lol
