Right i got Jonno one of these for his birthday today and i have to say he was not quite as chuffed as i thought he would be. I loved mine when i was a kid, tho i never ever completed it really- just cheating by changed the stickers or sorta popping the cubes out and wedging them back in.

What i want to know is, does anyone remeber that game that came after it- i am poss it was by Rubiks an all.

It came and looked like a cube, one side silver and one side gold (maybe), then you could do all manner of shite with it- even split it in two. It was like lots of little triangles that could bend on the 'foil' hinges.

Jonno is calling me a mad bitch and saying they never existed- i have done a tinty search and can't find anything either. I hold my hand up to Frieda the ballet chic being in my head, but this- this deffo existed.

I too thought i had it with the snake, but it diff colours and just one solid placky long thing- this was deffo two that fitted together to make one. As i said, it had really fragile foil bits on it that held it together.

Jonno is v v good at Rubiks, he recks he is going to put washing up liquid on it to make it twist faster as he fancies going for the world record:condom: the daft gimp.

ahhh the one I was thinking of is the one Northern Star has put up the Rubiks Magic or Rubiks Circles as it was also known by. I used to have loads of these rubiks puzzles as a kid and I am wracking my brains now to try and rem the one you mean.

I was disgusted to find that there is an actual method to solving it- i thought it was all skill. Actually is summat to do with getting four key cubes in place on certain faces.

p.s you sound big headed. Not a bit either, fucking loads.

LOL! ;)

There's several methods of solving it, the skill comes in spotting the patterns quickly and remembering what set of moves you need to do in any situation.

The one I use is the Fridich method. You put the four edge pieces on one side to make a cross, then you solve two thirds of the cube in four moves (from a possible 50 odd for each situation), then you do the top layer. I do it slightly different to the fastest possible way coz there's too much stuff to learn. For the top layer I flip up the edge pieces, then flip up the corner pieces, then move them all so they're all in the right place.

Read all about it here, if anyones interested:

I've always been shit with one, the best i could do was a side + 1 or 2 lines.

My brother (the smartest one) could do it in around 20 seconds, but feck knows how:crazy:
