Deffo any improved speech like pesci in goodfellas and benicio del torro in usual suspects. However have to say the nam scene that takes the biscuit has got to be robert duvall with his "love the smell of napalm in the morning" and "charlie don't surf" lines.

I take it you've not seen it, it's a film that manages to walk that difficult tightrope of being both serious and funny. There's a large amount of top scenes in there but the President's speech is the standout one for me.

yes on all counts... you're both right... the end sequence would be better actually... you get the look on his face and the same cracking tune as at the opening... I know what you eman about the soundtrack too... I've never listened to it on it's own, but have watched the film a few times just for the music. I never tire of it, it's a film I could watch over and over.
