What does home mean to you? Is it just simply where you store shit and get kip, or is it like it is for me and the best place ever?

When people talk about their fave place in the whole world, my thoughs are always home. I love everything about it, all my stuff everywhere, nice things in the cupboard, the general smell lol and the welcoming and happy atmosphere.

As crazy as it sounds i get terribly attached to where i live, and the last house i felt so bad about leaving. I used to even dream about it for months after and wake up really sad. I can't ever imagine leaving this house, as i like this one more than any other.

Some people just class it as a storage place, or a temporary stay until they move on. Perhaps its diff for those who still live with thier folks? My friend hates being in her house, she says she gets insane- to me a full day at home just doing nowt much is sheer bliss.

What is home to you?


Edited to add: Even the thought of going away for more than a week makes me sad, i get really bad homesick even after a weekend.

It's a place where you spend the most amount of time (usually) so yeah, it's got to be right.

There are different levels of home appreciation, at the moment home is top, has pretty much everything that's required, BUT, it could be better.

The only way it could be better is to be detached and not a semi, that's my dream to own a detached property and am working on it

I love everything about my home, its always warm (well when i can be arsed to put the heating on), the location is great, no noise at all ensuring a sound sleep at night, the rooms are just big enough to accomodate me & the whole aura of the place is bob on.

I have only been in it about 12 months now & its my first since leaving my parents home, i must admit at first it was horrible coz it felt so lonley. Going from a house where there was always something going on to a house where hardly anything happens was very hard to get used to. But now i love everything about it

I love sitting in front of the fire on full blast with the telly on proper loud on a sunday morning, that to me is my idea of heaven for sure I even treated SJ to one of my sunday sessions & i think she loved every minute of it The only bad thing is i have actually started watching Charmed on T4 :$

You know its home when you have an illness & all you want to do is go home & jump into bed & stay there until you are well again.

We just moved from a house to a home last month. I didn't realise until we had moved that our last place was only a house.

We had done extensive work on the old place, but when we got into the new place and unpacked a few boxes I sat down and thought "this feels like home".

My wife said last night that it feels as though we have known this place for ages, and that she felt that it was more like home than anywhere she'd been previously.

I've youtubed it here YouTube - New Home. To me it looks like home... to others will only look like a house....

I love sunday mornings in our house. We get the paps deliverd (one real newspaper, one gossip one), and Jonno sometimes makes me brekky in bed if i am a good girl lol. I could stay there all day and just turn the lamp off when its bed time again .

Its a funny one for me at the moment....

When I come back to my flat (manchester) I feel at home because I have all my things with me.

But when I go home I feel like that is also my home because I stay in my old bedroom!!!

So I've decided, im very materialistic!! When all my things are around me it is more like home. Silly things, like going to get ready for a night out, If I dont have everything I need around me then I feel like Im staying over at somebody elses place.

On another note, whenever I meet up with my parents after living away, I feel like Im at home then. They have known me all my life (obviously), and so there is just some easy comfort feeling about it. And when I have to say goodbye to them, I get very sad.

Anyone will ltell you i hate my house cus theres so much wrong with the place - but its home!!!

A place where i feel safe and where i can be me - do whatever i like and feel 100% comfortable in my surroundings - no place like it really!

I love my own bed and the fact i can lock the front door and not open it if i so choose to

thats why im always glad to be home when ever ive been away

i was very attached to my last house , think thats because thats were my children where born and a lot of good memories , was horrid leaving it , not as attached to this house yet , prob coz ive still to put my mark on it ( no not sparay it like a cat ) will be finished next year ( thanx fook ) might feel a bit more like the last house did .

at the moment it feels just like a place i get a bit of kip in coz i spend that much time at work and at my mums after work - the cats have more run of the place than i ever do!!

the only part of my place im totaly happy with is the living room, decorated realy nice with nice furnishings etc......spesh when the new open fire is on all cozy n stuff,

but as for everywhere else, its a shed!! kitchen is falling to pieces - hopefully getting a new one in april the bedrooms are ok, but not decorated to a good standerd etc...... and its still got little hidey holes stuffed full of junk that needs to find homes for:$

i make the best of what ive got and its not what i call "home" as yet, but give it time and when it is actually mine - i'll know when its home

i think the only place i feel at home is at my grans house in darwen, she has a lovely big house and we all spent loads of time there as kids, living there in the school holidays etc, christmas as kids etc... i think its coz ive got millions of happy family memorys there

Home to me is a place I can feel totally relaxed.... not just a house.

I'd say I've got 4, my mum's (which is where I live), my Dad's, Butty's and Vee's.... vee's coz she's like family and also coz lozzie used to live there and I know where everything is!

I hardly ever spend time at my mum's house even tho it's my address..... I just tend to sleep, shower and eat (rarely tho) here. For the most part and the rest of my time I'm workin my ass off or at butty's or owt or just generally doin other stuff! nay mind tho!

I moved to Spain 2yrs ago ,,sold up,, i had a beautiful house really nice , decorated perfect ,,, i moved cause the missis was half spanish and as the gentlemen i am i moved to Spain so she could be near her spanish father...

We bought a lovely villa................... Havin a detached house was brill.....we were made for life.... but for 1 thing ,,getting work out there was hard,,I dj'd,big clubs ,,she sang at music venues...........

But one thing i'll tell you all ,,, Home was where you come from...........

I missed the little things..................things people take for granted............

One thing we always said was Home is where you come from................................

A lot of people think the grass is greener on the other side,,,,,in any terms,,,,,,Is it.....................................

Home is safe its a place where you are king of the castle................

In the End she left me for a millonaire ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Im Home i feel safe,,,no fears,no worries ,,life begins ......................

i dont think i really have a home theres my mum n dads place which is where i grew up, n my old bedroom has the comfiest bed eva, but there sellin the house so they've redecorated n it isnt really my room anymore :S duno where out is coz its jus gon :| ! plus wen they do sell it, i wont have a home where my mum n dad is coz itll then be there house n not my old house!
n as for me now.... well i live in a really nice terrace house which im lucky to own n live in with two house mates but its not really home coz its university. i hate the uni town - trefforest (university of glamorgan) jus near cardiff in south wales, hate the people - there so boring n theres no fittys, n no oldskool nites, its rubbish!
i spend most of my time living out of my trusty pink suitcase! which i love and traveling to me mates houses at weekends n wen i got time off! home to me is the place where iv got my hair dryer, strighners, make-up bag, n my best clothes - not forgettin my shoes! oh n my camera, cant live without my photos for memories!
at the beginning of the summer or even easter time my main home was probly buttys house, then i met quey n i ended up livin out me suitcase there for bout 4 months, then i was bk to uni n jus stayed at whoevas house was avaliable when i came bk up north ! home is wot u make it, to me home is wherever my mates r. without my amazing friends (ya all no who u r) i wudnt have such a fun home so thanx guys i love u all

Yes I know what you’re saying; Home for me is like the place where I can forget all my worries.

I haven’t being back in such a long time so am really looking forward to going back for a week to spend xmas there with family and catching up with friends.

Yeah your heating bills are going to be massive with me round there now arnt they?

I must admit Gaz I love being round at yours, it is such a lovely house, your fire is ... In the last few weeks Ive spent more time round at yours than my own... But Ive treasured every minute!! Its like having a second home, so thanks!

Ive seen a whole new side to Sunday's now... and yes T4 has meaning! Not too sure about the TV being on full blast though lol

Your house is deffo not a lonely place now with me and all my clutter around is it? bless you!
