I always dump someone or get dumped right before Valentines Day!

So aside from my Dad sending me a rose and blagging it aint from him, or my wierd stalker sending me everything, under the sun, once again I reckon this year will be a top let down.

I did have one beautiful valentines though. It was the year I was dating Grad. Not only did I get a big card and some gorgeous underwear, he also uplaoaded a mix on osa called the love love love mix that he made with me in mind. In the same month I got taken out for a meal and then whilst we were hung over the next day in bed, he told me I had 2 hrs to get ready, what for he didnt tell me until we got there. He didnt really do the theatre yet he booked it as a surprise just for me... it was one of the most romantic nights ever:love:

Whoever he's with now, is one lucky bird:thumbsup:

Aww, I remember downloading that mix lol. I've always had nice valentines days, plenty of rose petals, candles & champers :luv: . Ive still got loads of valentines cards I got given at school kept in my draw of life memerobilia lol :$

i dont think you should have a certain day of the year that you be nice to somebody and tell them you love them.............you should do it everyday anyway:love:

same with the prezzis n flowers, if you wana buy em just do it anyway regardless of what day it is:thumbsup:

agree nics

valentines day can be in danger of being a forced, commercial nightmare. Still, suppose its a good excuse to spoil the one you love, even though you dont need an excuse.

I'm not the materialistic type anyway and definitely wouldnt throw a wobbly if someone hadnt bought me something / splashed out hard-earned cash etc...no way... thats the height of bad manners IMO :naughty:
I'd be happy just to chill and spend some time with them, even something basic like stopping in with a takeaway and watching the footy or whatever
Life isnt all about presents. How they treat you in general is a far better indictaion.:king: I had an ex years ago who did all the presents / flowers stuff 'by the book' yet was a c*nt to me in day-to-day life . I know which I'd rather. :naughty: :)

Without wanting to sound ungrateful, Sometimes its not so good to be on the receiving end of Valentines gifts either.. :D

A few years ago I had a parcel delivered that was too big to get through the letterbox so trotted off to collect it from the post office. It was humungous and contained loads and loads of stuff including the biggest card youve ever seen with a full-on bloody essay written in it declaring undying love / lust etc.. red rose, teddy bear , knickers which were quite frankly the tackiest ones i'd ever seen , with a note saying he hoped I'd wear them for him blah blah. Thought it was some prank by mates til I totted up how much this all must have cost, even on the bloody postage alone!
Well I was baffled by who it couldve come from.

It remained a mystery (and p1sstake ammunition for my mates) for a couple of days til I received a phonecall that went something like this:

"Hello"
"Hi, Its Tony"
"Tony who?"
"Tony from Watford"
"erm..."
(he obviously clicked that I'd need more prompting.. )"We met in Tunisia last month...."
"erm..." (still baffled)
"Did you like your valentines card and presents?"
" !" <noise of pin dropping..>

Then followed a strained and excruciatingly awkward conversation , not least as I was still struggling to recall who the hell he was.

To this day, I only have a vague idea which one he was and i'm still not convinced I'm even right but if it is the one I think then I swear to God I only spoke to him 2 or 3 times!!! You know one of those people who are part of a massive group you hook up with on holiday and theyre kinda lurking on the sidelines? Well he was a bit like that so a couple of times I had a brief 'he seems shy, lets include him in the conversation' chat with him, but thats it!
The trouble was on the last day where youre all together saying your goodbyes and swapping details etc.. and just dish them out to everyone in the group so you dont exclude anyone (lets face it half the time no-one bothers after you get back home anyway!)

Certainly wasnt expecting that! It just concluded with me saying a thankyou for the collossal amount of gifts etc...and then mumbling some line about how I didnt think it was appropriate for him to have spent that kind of money on someone he barely knows.. blah blah etc..

Then left it at that. Phew! :$ lol

Sniffing glue........again!
Hmm, my views on Valentines day are that i'm not massively into it or anything but on a couple of occasions i've had boyfriends who have really made a massive effort for me and i've loved it, it made me feel really special!!

That said, i love it whenever someone makes a massive effort me and makes me feel special so it's more that bit than the valentines bit that i like:love:

Romance is ace!!!!

Not far from Tesco's
Last year. My boyfriend 'forgot'. He got loads of nice things from me. He got Issey Miyake...a book about the Beatles and some chocolate.

Now, a card might have done it for me, with some lovely words inside. But nope. Nothing. So on the way home, he stopped at a petrol station and purchased a card. Thoughtless. It also said 'Valentine, you've scored'. Which I dont find amusing.

Fellas. Do it right or not at all.

Petrol station or not at all for me luv im afraid

I always do it right

My problem is that I am too thoughtful & caring (lol if you can believe that).. I always get burnt for it... :(

I love the thought that goes into a gift... it has to come from the heart or not at all imo... I'd be mortified if someone ever got me vouchers for xmas or summat... it's never about the money, it's about the thought & the care that's gone into it... like someone has actually sat down & considered how to bring a smile to someones face or make them catch their breath & touch their heart.... at least that's how I think about presents & surprises...

I'm off to check if I still have a penis... :$

It's the only day of the year I deliberately do not do something special. Not saying I do something special everyday, but there's no reason why I shouldn't make effort when I can.
Whatever I do on Valentines day makes me feel cheesy.
