Orange broadband, livebox

anyone else out there got Orange broadband with a livebox??
if so are you having any difficulties with connection speeds ?
my broadband is just at a stand still after about 3 o clock afternoon. taking ages for any page to download. well pissed off with it I am paying for 8MB and after doing speed checks got 2.5 MB in morning and a scandalous 0.5MB afternoon. cant download anything !!!
its only been the last 3 weeks that its started to happen, after reading up on it, seems that its a common complaint, think they are capping peoples useage by slowing the connection speeds
anybody got any ideas how to speed the connection up ???? not got a virus or known spyware checked and thats fine.

help please someone

if you go into the shortcut for the livebox settings and get the stats for your connection and post them up here

think on adsl, been with orange 8 mb for ages prob about 16 months or so, but only got livebox begining january been fine up unitll abpout 3 weeks ago. rang them today and they getting BT to do a line check tommorrow

your stats look very good and you are syncing high

but it looks to me like your upstream is low, this could be cause they have moved you to LLU which is proving to be very poor

upstream should be 448kbps for max, they have been moving people without telling them

phone them up and ask if you have been moved to llu

have to phone them later today so will ask them, if they have can I ask to be put back to adsl seeing as though I didnt ask for LLU. I am paying for 8Mb and not getting it thats false advertising by them. cant explain how bad it gets after 3 clockish

one piece of advice from someone who has had a 2000 profile for 3 months when it should be 8000 and has been unable to get orange to do anything about it

do not believe a word they say at tech support, they are lying

ask them straight off if you are on llu or max

if you are on max then your upstream should be 448

they can change without asking you and they will not put you back on max, it makes more money for them to use llu

also go to one of the broadband sites and see if your exchange is having problems at the moment, this can affect your speeds

i think one of these sites is dslzone or something like that

mine is free or i would have been off orange weeks ago

the tech support at Orange is awful some Asian call center he couldnt understand my Brummie accent and I couldnt his !! He was obviously reading instructions off a computer screen & didnt have a bloody clue !!!!!

seems I aint the only one getting this problem..its nationwide, 2/3 clock afternoon the connection slows to under 0.5 MB taking about 40-60 seconds for a page to open thats one without any pictures or video.

sale of goods act 1979 covers services that are not up to standard

they will try to charge you for leaving but as they have not supplied the service you are paying for they are in breach of contract, not you

like i said i am getting it free with my mobie contract and i am on max, so at least i am getting reasonable speeds even if they are not at "up to" 8 meg

mine is a stuck profile whereas your looks like the llu nightmare

still not fixed, they said BT should have fixed the problem on 22nd, now they saying I will definetly get 6.5MB for the 26 Feb !!! ( Yeah right I will )
did speed check last night and was getting a sorry 0.3 MB !!

anyway I asked about the LLU server, they said I am not on that but have been changed at the begining Feb to something called BT's IBC Max ? obviously this is when my troubles started but anyone got any ideas about IBC Max ?????? not heard anyone mention this before

you are past this so there is obviously a fault somewhere

i have actually managed to get my problem sorted and now getting 5 meg downloads even at busy times

I got in touch again and now they are saying I am on LLU have been for ages ??? they keep lying big time !
I am getting 2.7MB which seems to be the limit on LLU, are you on LLU if so thats a good speed ?
I actually had a scottish person ( instead Asian call centre ) from Orange phone me back couple days ago saying they are sorting out the problem, we will see

yeah I have read that somewhere that 2.7 is the most you can get on LLU. its total crap by Orange, I signed up with them because they promised my line can take 8Mb. total rip off! looks like I am stuck with 2.7
