Soulseek Connecting Problems

Is it just me or can i never connect to this proggy,

i mean i have had it for yrs and only use it now and again but it never seems to stay on, my firewall is fine with it but is there something in the options that i missing? to make it work!!!??

any help would b ace!!

I recently installed it on my new lappy, but it doesn't seem to work as well as it did on my pc :|

I can generally do just the one search then I have to close the program and reopen it to get any results for a second search:S

Err it could be a few things


1:make sure your slsk version is the latest one Soulseek - Slsknet - File sharing software

2: Are you behind a router?If so you will need to forward your ports. PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

3: turn on uPnP in soulseek options.Options/General Options/Use uPnP (automatic port forwarding) put a tick in the box next to this option

4:Could be this Soulseek Frequently Asked Questions - My transfers stays in "Initializing" or Soulseek works okay during the first minutes and then seems to freeze.

Other than that i cant think of anything else at the moment.

probably won't solve your problem, but best soulseek tip I've had is:

under options -go to general options and check Use uPnP (Automatic port forwarding)
Don't bother screwing with your computers settings (eg. all that manual port fowarding/router configuring malarky)

I've just bought a Macbook pro - does anyone know how I can use soulseek on that? (Preferably without having to install windows)?

Thats probably why it isnt working, I wish you were right but it isnt malarky, Ive been using it for donkeys and its all i use, sort your ports out (theyre there for a reason) and you should be away...the slsk help file instructions are easy to follow.

im the same m8,cant for the life of me connect
