It was the euro beat that killed the oldskool sound in the first place back late 94...

Thing I dont get is why they play that shite when theres loads of good new stuff around now - nowhere ova than northwest plays that bouncey shite.

thats it though fella, all the peeps into disco and stuff were probably saying exactly the same thing as you have in this thread between the years of 88-92

I fully understand that pal - but this is an oldskool site, so I'm givin my view as an oldskool fan. As you say, i think if it was a 70s site, they be saying bout what we into. As the the eurobeat killed the oldskool sound I can only hate that bum didy bum sound. :S

BUT again there is a lot of superb new stuff about - so i dont get why in the northwest they play arent playing it.

Funny u should say that though as the northwest is full of bouncy stuff yet its never been big in Manchester, its all funky house n electro really in the clubs in manc. You still get all the underground clubs with a mainly student following but the mainstream clubs all play the funky stuff
keep the faith fella, im sure theres a cultural revolution on the way, just hope im still young enough to enjoy it lol

Thats true pal! My local clubs stink, when you think at one time: maximes and pier were putting on decent nights early 90s. Never mind, we just need a depression sort the music again.

your missing the point totally

they did not make up this nu rave, it was a name given to them by the nme magazine, then the people who went to the gigs sarted wearing fluro and taking glowsticks

they just play the music they do

all a bit of harmless fun and they are good live, the atmosphere at the gigs is awsome and a lot of club nights dont even come close to that atmosphere nowadays

they play "Not over yet" and "the bouncer" in their sets and usually have sone shit hot acid house in between bands

ignore the name nu rave, it means nothing

Really? I'm sure I saw an interview with them where they claimed they made up the Nu Rave tag themselves. Whoever made it up, I fail to see the connection. Probably the worst named music genre since UK Garage... :rolleyes:
