Hello all,

New to the forums really, and I'm not fully up to speed on stuff that has gone before and what I can and can't do. Protocal and stuff. So if I do or say something wrong please tell me.

I recently put all my vinyl on to .mp3. And my vinyl has now all been sold. (I can hear all those sharp intakes of breath, "You sold it all!" You know, I had a newborn, it was taking up space)

Stupidly, I didn't really think about it and grabbed the main track of each one, so thereby left myself without a lot of stuff. You know those remixes you like to play, those dub versions, break beats. Obscure 2nd song on the B-Side.

EG: The breakbeat on the b-side of E Lustrious Ragga Tip, or the version of Gonna Make you sweat that has the heartbeat in the middle that is so cool to mix out of. (Jay Wearden used to do a great mix with this in the House days)

So, this stuff is not available as downloads as it is a just not out there -I have searched.

Now theres also stuff I never managed to get hold of as well, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any sort of MP3 swap sites, or anywhere I can buy this stuff on MP3?

I ended up downloading a 4gig file the other day to get to 1 acapella! (Then in truth I did discover another 500 acapellas of old skool tracks I thought never existed!)

I'm sure other people have the same issues now and then?

While I'm at it, can anyone reccomend any good MP3 DJ software? I've used Virtual DJ and Traktor, but I think there must be better out there.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers, Gav.

If you just wana use MP3 - use Ableton Live - so easy my five year old can mix with it. I dont think its any fun - but makes mixing simple.

Whilst i'm on - forgot my soulseek username and p/w - how do I get it back or setup a new one?
