Good way of starting off though I reckon. I have about 10 of them from when I started buying oldskool. Never see the light of day any more though....

Like ILP I bought a few of em when I first started out, this was before the net was invented like but even so its probably the best way to get hold of Techno Age even now

Only one I still play is the young MC one as it convieniently speeded up and it dont matter if a wear the bugger out scratchin with lol

Should probably list all my old boots as got most originals these days but am a lazy fooker :$

Bootlegs are shite...regardless of what or who (note bootlegs and not limited or pre-releases or unlicenced releases) They are for the lazy cheapskates who cant be bothered to hunt down originals. As i can recall I have 4 in my collection only.

1..renaissance bootleg which i have hung onto as has emf rmx which i cant get hold of.
2..martin luther king speech in full....cant remember what is on the b side.
3..some early 90s brothers in rhythm remix with crap on the b side
4..most recent, rhythm controll, my house and jeanette thomas, shake your body. I am holding onto this i think despite having the originals of both winging their way from america right now.

I have absolutely no knights of whatever and have a real urge whenever i see them in hmv to scratch or snap them. I would suggest they would make good fruit bowls, frisbees or as mentioned previously dig out the old headshell and have a real good agressive scratching session.

Apart from the above i think they are fine;)

Are they really in hmv now

Before the net Id say gettin hold of some of those tunes was a bit of a pain and if you were shoppin at say VE they would cost a fortune... now many of em can be got for less than a £1 :D

Gotta say though Pauly is comment absolutely right :) , loads of the tunes have ace B-sides / different mixes so its well worth huntin them down

Cat amoungst the pigeons time....

Dont get me wrong i dont love bootlegs or prefer them to originals; however they have served me a purpose over the years.

For some peeps it has and still is the only way to own very rare tunes at a reasonable price on viynl.

Not everyone can afford to pay the top dollar the original demands and lets face it loads of people just settle for the MP3 now.

Having said all that i recently picked up congress 40 miles for a bin lid !! And has been stated above found another groove on the b side wich was a long time want.

So ideally myself i want to replace all my filthy heathen bootlegs but its a matter of time; patience and money.:|
