Also, our butchers wife looks just like Pat Butcher (how odd) and she has dead fat fingers that look like raw sausages.

When i asked him for mutton he made out i was a pov as well, when actually we fancied trying it as its supposed to be nice slow cooked.

Movin' on up.
I said Quality Butcher (see below) as some local butchers can be as bad as the supermarket. You seem to have a horror story butcher. . . .Seek and ye shall find.

It's not true that all butchers are more expensive than the supermarket either.. . .It varies widely!

But if you have time. . . .support your local quality butcher

I agree to some extent, but it surley depends on the butcher. Ours, for example, is a right wanker who deserves not a penny more of my cash. He is bloody expensive, whilst driving around in a top of the range silly car/trailer. He pays he staff shit wages, and he is a right sexist twat to boot- not to mention how rude he is in general to everyone. He is always closed at random times, plus when he is open he never has anything in. Just because i wasn't 'local' at first he tried his hardest to blank me while serving me.

My friend has a problem with her butcher, he makes prices up to suit depending on customer, and she goes like once a fortnight for loads and everytime he makes out he has never seen her before.

Also the bacon at quite a few butchers is wierd, all fat and shiz. If i had to make a choice, i would go to the local farm shop over the butcher (ours anyway) any day of the week.

Saw this the other night and one thing really puzzles me...

About those chickens that were in the barns rather than in the little cages. What's the point in having the roof? Surely it'd be better for them to be in the open and get some sunshine? And also, instead of having x ammount of chickens in one barn, why not just build another fucker next to it and put half the chickens in there? Then they've got more room and they'll be healthier.

I dunno, lol, it makes sense to me! :D

No need to be arsey dude:thumbsup:

I didn't say all butchers, i said mine was expensive.

With all due respect, this is the only local butcher. The next is quite a drive away, which happens to be that of my friend. Seek and ye shall find indeed, but not at the cost of a ten spot in petrol- it makes little sense. As i said, thats why i prefer the local farm shop.

:)

Why buy a plot of land that will hold 8 houses and only build 4. . . it's about money. It also costs more to build the other shed and at 3P profit a chicken???

As for the roof, it allows the rain in and conditions would soon become very bad for the chickens, even free range chickens find cover from the elements.

It would also make the transmission of poultry disease easier and give access to other birds that would eat the feed!
