Can anyone recommend a good set of headphones? Don't wanna spend the earth, just summat that will do the job for bedroom mixing...
Theres been a few threads about this in the past but Sennhieser HD 25 Pro are what Id go for.
They are top quality and are also built well and easy to get spares. Iv bounced mine :$ etc and there as good as new
Such an important bit of kit defo worth payin that bit extra imo
At the end of the day it's all about personal preference.
I've had Sennhiesers, Beyer, Ministry Of Sound and Technics headphones over the years but by far prefer the Sony MDR-V700 which I use now.
These used to be around £100 but I've just had a scan on ebay and you pick them up for a fraction of that price now.
^^^^ what he said
Only downside is a slight tendancy to slowly strangle the wearer as they keep turning around... & around... & around....
ha ha iv had the same problem with mine, think Cano's done sommet to his to stop it happening, looks like he's turned the ear pieces upside down
depends how much ya wanna spend tbh i couldnt afford the hd25s so i opted for the technics rpdj 1210 s but i find the 1210s really comfy and suit my head a lil better than some others ive used.
theres a lil shop right door to the market hall u know where the chinese herbal place is, i got them in there he sells on ebay too and the price is cheaper on the bay so i printed out the ebay page and went into the shop lol he couldnt charge me the shop price then hahah
My mate owns that shop so might try n blag a phat discount of him Worth a go eh!
I use the Technics DJ 1210's too for mixing, but after a hour or 2 they start to hurt my head with their tight grip. I've never used a better pair for mixing though and they're virtually indestructable
:
Spending money on a pair of Technics is well worth it long term too, because you stand on a cheap pairs cable and they're as good as ready for the bin, but i've lost count of the number of times ive stood on the technics cable and they're still going strong'- about 11 or 12 years after buying them
Oh and the solid bass on em is something else too
