Thought I would pick your brains.

If you could turn back the clock is there anything you would do differently: workwise, travel, not had kids etc

I quit my job earlier this year to start my own business, best thing I have done but there are still other things I wish I had/hadnt done.

Comments please?

Wouldnt change anything i dont think, maybe shgould have stuck at 6th form instead of sodding off to blackpool to continue my career in raving, but i wouldnt swap it really, best times of my life

lifes all about learning from our mistakes and hoping not to make them in the future, i wouldnt change my life but theres things i mightve done differently

Actually that's a fair point :)

My fuckups may have shaped the person I've become (ie learnt form them for the future) but still impacted others back then... so yes... I DO wish I'd handled certain situations differently. :)

We all pay the piper eventually :) What we do to others we essentially do to ourselves, both good & bad, as we are all one connected conciousness experiencing itself subjectively at a micro level... the key is experience, recognition, balance, love & growth :D

I really must lay off the drugs :D

Regrets... I've had a few... but then again... blah blah...

Sure there's stuff I'd have done differently, given the benefit of hindsight. To be honest I don't think anyone could truthfully say otherwise. It may only be small inconsequential stuff, but we've all done stuff we wished we hadn't at some point.

That's not the same as regret though. To me regret is like thinking you made bad or wrong choices in life. Given the position I was in at the time, and what I knew & what I didn't know, then I don't think I'd have done anything different really.

Maybe bought a set of decks back in the early ninedies instead of nailing me musical colours to the mast of CD. I thought about it. At the time I was moving about a lot though so trying to travel light and shit.

Too much of an optimist to harbour regrets really though. It's all about the here and now, and about the future. Life's too short to spend it beating yersen up over choices you made in the past. You can't change them, so better to just accept them, move on & spend the time smelling the roses instead

Kiss me brown eye
Recently caught up with mates who i lost contact with when they joined to Police and RAF, a series of Stag do's then a wedding Saturday is how i got hold of them again... some of the stuff we did together back then was legendary stupid, often including class a's!
But these guys aint stopped, we are talking spiking drinks with Viagra in Lapdance bars, white water rafting in mankini's in Aviemoor... in February.... naked paintballing..

We were sat down shooting the shit at 1 am-ish last saturday, when one of 'em hit the nail on the head...

I've had a twinge of this recently! I came back off holiday with some big regrets of things I hadn't done. :( I definately agree with that statement.

the awld "better to regret the things you have done rather than the things you haven't" is an Oscar Wilde-ism innit?

I think you could be right there - deffo heard it many times

I'm well happy, I think I have led a charmed life - I was due to go to University in either London or Nottingham in 1990 and fucked it off at the last minute because my DJing took off (financial wise) - I know if I had gone to uni I would have ended up coming out with a 2.2 in marketing (i'm a lazy bastard when it comes to studying) - what would that have been worth to me?

Only thing I regret was not buying a flat in Bournemouth Town Centre for 23 grand in 1992 - I had it set up but fucked it off to live in a rented house with some friends - like we were The Monkees lol - that was a top laugh though - must be worth 180 now :p

Yeah... I was offered the chance to buy a gaff I used to rent. Big 4 bed 3 storey Georgian townhouse in the centre of Ashford, 2 minutes from the station. Could have bought it for buttons, and now that they are running fast commuter trains from there up into central London on the new Eurostar line property prices there have been rocketing.

I've gotta ask - were you all naked at the time of this epiphany? It sounds like a "beautiful" moment :condom:

Im defo of the "better to regret the things you have done, rather than the things you haven't" persuasion. With one notable exception - wish I would have known how my ex wife would turn out, then I wouldnt have married the two-timing bitch in the 1st place, lol
