In My House 26th July

We are very excited that we have no less than 2 Oldskool Legends headlining our next event. I know both are excited about having the chance to play some tunes from their collections that they love, rather than the same old anthems they usually have to play for the more public crowds.

In the blue corner we have Manchester Legend, the man like MOGGY playing for us for a second time. Last time he rocked the place and having graced the turntables at some legendary venues such as Bowlers, Angels, The Hippodrome, Park Hall, The Loveshack, The Hacienda, Club Kinetic and Monroes in the past, he’s sure to deliver more of the same this time round! I think we can expect a selection of his favourite house, acid and techno tracks ( I think, because he won’t tell me lol)

In the red corner we have a Blackpool Oldskool Veteran, who is probably best known to you lot from the famous Zone events around the North West. A regular on the Club scene for over 20 years who’s played house music in many different ways, shapes and forms during his incredible DJing Career. Not just in England either! From playing house music at Pacha in Ibiza, and The Bassment in Cairns (Australia) to Italian Piano Classics at Zone, Guesting for Adrenalin playing to over 4000 people, playing progressive house and break beats, at Chaos in Bangor, and Lakota in Bristol, and countless other nights throughout the country… we are of course talking about the man like BARRIE JAY. Barrie was one of the DJs we had in mind for one of our first events, but due to other commitments we’ve had to wait until now.. We are delighted that Barrie making his debut appearance and I have to say that with his musical expertise, I have no idea what to tell you to expect lol :D All I can say is that from a man with such a varied collection of music, it’s certainly going to be interesting :D

As always, Residents Woody, Cano and Miss Saysay will be on hand with their own unique styles of late 80s and 90s house.

The reason we don’t advertise this publicly with flyers and posters is so we keep the riff raff out :p we only invite happy smiley party people to IMH... people who have either been personally invited, are members of OSA, our Facebook / myspace groups, or their own friends that they brought to previous events. That is the only way we can guarantee a safe and enjoyable evening for our crowd whilst creating a unique atmosphere that is only achieved with such likeminded people.

That’s part of the reason why we like to do something slightly different from your usual Oldskool House nights! We try to cater for the more discerning Oldskooler. People who are passionate about oldskool house music, and are sick to death of hearing the same old anthems over and over again, by DJs who are only in it for a quick buck. We try to keep the music fresh and varied whilst making sure we don’t stray too far from our house music roots. Whilst we might not play the anthems that have been played to death over the years, Rhythm is a mystery / Peace & Harmony / Robin S etc, etc… we're certainly not goin' to bore you to death with peculiar obscure music that no ones ever heard before. We spend a hell of a lot of time rooting out classic tunes that don’t get the exposure they deserve these days, tunes you'll have forgotten you knew, secret little gems that we've discovered over the years mixed up with some stone cold classics that we all know and love!!

All the DJs we have on, play only for the price of a few beers and the love of the music that inspired a generation! They are keen vinyl collectors with a major enthusiasm for oldskool house. This makes for a much more varied evening with a wide range of music being played from start to finish, covering allsorts of styles and genres and hopefully something for everyone!!

The venue as always, is the Scubar, on York Street, just off Oxford Road in Manchester and it all kicks off at 9PM, with Canos warm up, all the way till 3AM. with the usual cheap beer and only £5 on the door. We're not in this to make money! We only charge what we need to cover costs and if we're very lucky TFH! (taxi fare home) :) We do this because we love the music we play and love to share it with likeminded people who appreciate DJs who play something a little bit different from the norm.. We hope you can all join us again for our 5th event, which is on the 26th of July.

Guaranteed entry list (in case of lock out) will be available to those on the attending list as the venue only holds a maximum of 120 people. Please contact us for details of the venue or with any questions you may have...

We look forward to seeing you down there again!!

Regards

Woody, Cano & Miss Saysay (the In My House Crew)

No can do. Gonna have to miss this one due to, dare I say it, "better offers". Going to a wedding in Lymington for someone who was my wife's bestest friend for years, and if that wasn't happening, I'd be at a stag do at The Syndicate! Hopefully my absence from IMH will be excused on the basis of my 100% attendance record to date. :|

Dont forget! If you bring 4 or more friends with you then we'll let you (yourself) in for free as a thank you for helping to spread the word:thumbsup:

We purposely only advertise the night here and on facebook so that we never attract the wrong sort of crowd... we only invite happy smiley people just like yourselves, so you can be safe in the knowledge the people dancing next to you are only there to 'ave it large :head:

The only problem with this.... without posters and flyers, we cant spread the word as as far out as we would like... But.... we'd still like to keep that underground vibe which would go right out the window if everyone knew about us ;)

So, the only way we can get bigger and better is by you lot telling your friends, or even better bringing them along and letting them experience the madness;) We're sure that after their first time that they'll be hooked too and will want to bring friends of their own

Spread the word:king:
