I'm a yorkshireman so obviously me too tight to buy Fish from Chippie

we get a chip butty!!!!

Where I live now in "just got lectric Lancashire" a Chip butty is on slice bread WTF and they call a Yorkshire "chip butty".....a Chip Muffin:confused:


I'll add Muffin to the mix (a mushroom shaped bum with Chocolate chips or fruit) unless your backwards

This thread is barmy (haha geddit?)

Barm / Muffin / Ovenbottom / Bap / Roll = things you put sandwich stuff on

Cob = crusty loaf of bread

Teacake = barm with raisins in it

Does it really matter though what any of them are called as long as they taste good :LOL:

Lol scraps, they do taste bloody good but there would be no way i would ask for them. Even as a kid when my mum would send me i would go pink just saying it out loud.

and ye old bready debate rages on. well i am a southerner by birth but brought up in the good north of england (manc land, lol) and I say
barms, teacakes and cobs/crusty rolls and muffins :cool:
and scollops (thickly sliced potatoe dipped in batter and deep fried - served with lots of salt and vinegar - hmmm mouthwatering.)
