What are the visually stunning classics that would look mindblowingly ace in blu ray then? Presumably only recent movies would be worth upgrading:S

I'm reading a book called Lies Lies Lies by Dr C.V. Ford,

There is an entire chapter devoted to the self deception involved in the purchase of overpriced goods and how we insist to ourself and others the improvement over "lesser" equipment to justify spending the cash....

Fair point as we as a society are being driven to bigger, better, bolder, beautiful - NOW !

BUT.... there is a tangible difference with blu ray.... once you've watched summat in 1080p definition there's no turning back....
