I basically spent the whole day pissing around with my denon as it has been playing up on mp3 playback- only to work out in the end the £80 i spent on the Hardrive i am using is not compatable for the denon and is causing the issue

On the brightside the denon is not the issue- on the bad side i now need to spend another ton probabaly to get the right spec hardrive what a shitter

Its a self powered hard drive i need- the issue is that it has to be of a certain specification to work properley with the denon

Theres not actually anything wrong with the hardrive its just the denon is not working properly with it !
