Vodka Vs. Whiskey

I cant comment on Whiskey, I just cant drink it ... its smells awful :S However I do enjoy Irish coffee & Baileys ..weird

Seriously though there are lots of stories of people who have died doing stuff like that. There was a pub landlord in Yorkshire who died after a bet for £100 that he could not down a pint glass of mixed top shelf drinks.

I bought it whilst visiting the Nurburgring, where they use it to make "Der Batman" Kaluhua, Baileys and a little topping of Stroh which is cerimoniuosly lit. Tastes lush. Used to make a few at home until the novelty wore off

Has to be vodka, and has to be a good un, because I like to drink it neat I hate any nasty aftertaste. Which once you know it's got an aftertaste you will taste even when mixed.
My personal fav is Grey Goose but we picked up a bottle of Snow Queen which is giving the Goose a good run for its money.
My Grandad is a big Speyside Whisky connosieur. But to me it tastes like fecal juice
(Unless it's hidden in Baileys )

tbh couldn't drink either neat, urrgh :shudder:
but with mixers i'd have to go for Vodka, I dont really like whiskey much. Used to drink JD (as you say though, not 'proper' whiskey..) but find that hard to stomach nowadays too :| the smell sometimes makes me wanna gip
Used have right OTT vodka sesh's loads, but not for ages... and Bacardi sesh's too. Guess that must've put me off a bit. :|
Favourite spirit is Brandy but not with a mixer / if i'm out
Gimme cheats stuff / sweet liquers / girlier shizzle like Amaretto / Archers / Cointreau / Cherry Brandy / Blue Curacao
and its Christmas so... bring on the Aadvocaat :alcohol:
That said though, regarding Vodka, I am partial to quite a few of the flavoured Absolut range, the vanilla / raspberri Absoluts are lovely
The new apple smirnoff and lime smirnoffs have caught my eye too, but am yet to try those. I like that Smirnoff Norsk one too

imo-the two can't be compared...i like vodka. but it's not as if ive ever had the thought to even drink whiskey...so it'd be unfair to answer.

i used to drink taboo by the bottle load and thats voddy with fruit juices etc......ive got a nice bottle of the citrus smirnoff for us on friday burd
