This is a smart link showing you the comparison between the DVD official releases & the 1080p HDTV rips that are out there... always confused me as I wondered how they can upgrade pic quality if they are not re-releasing an updated source

Anyway.. have a looksie

I'm grabbing 1080p MKV rips for all films until I they are properly released in blu & ebaying my old dvd originals...

not impressed. You don't see the boogers up leia's nose in the 'old skool version'

Too much detail in 1080p :p

LMAO - I've 'heard tell' that porn stars were dead against HD due to it throwing up all manner of body flaws... you don't really want winnets & Nobby Stiles thrown up in 1080p do you lol :hurl:

It's not like an upgrade really as normal telly and DVD is a massive downgrade from the 35mm film

Makes sense that Tim cheers... lots of sense in fact - I downloaded a HDTV rip of A Fish Called Wanda (love that film) & you can tell it's taken more or less straight from the 35mm... the texture & grain is oldskool...

Same applies for Star Wars IV A New Hope (or just Star Wars as I call it) vs Revenge of the Sith... the texture of the original is proper 35mm oldskool whereas you can really tell how much CGI was used in ROTS...
