DJ Vertigo - Shake Your Bacon, Early 1991

Here's another of my tape rips that's been round a while now. This mix was recorded at home by DJ Vertigo for my mate (Agent Squid) Debbie who was going out with the promoter of Grin Phil Beddard. It was never released as a monthly mix tape & only a hand full of people ever got a copy of this and was recorded during the time he DJ'd at Planet X in Liverpool around the start of 1991...

whats the story behind the Grin mixtapes, me being a scottish lad dont know the full story

as far as im aware they were done by a handful of djs from the northwest area (some who worked in 3 beat records liverpool) and were sold over the counter in 3 Beat

the djs ive seen listed as having grin mixtapes are - Vertigo, Welly, John Kelly, Pezz, Angel, Malc, Rob Tissera, Paul Bleasdale, Stu Allan

Didn't really go to many Grin nights once the later tapes were realeased. Think DJ Vertigo just started doing a monthly tape to sell at Grin nights & behind the counter at 3 Beat, there were a couple of other early one's buy Mick Singh & Skuce whist the Sonic nights were running which i don't seem to have anymore but a few of my mates are digging out there old collections at the moment to see if they might have it & other new stuff to rip...

I put my tapes up on here 10 years ago to share with everybody because I knew I had tapes in my collection that others would want, and with people helping ID tunes collected the tunes off my tapes off soulseek or YouTube to MP3 and 1000's of other mp3's, I hardly knew the names of any tunes in all the years I went out apart from the classics but with all the downloading & filing I've built up a pretty good knowledge myself and helping complete a few of late and now IDing that myself has made my day, after having the tapes that long, I've sent that to loads of dj's over the years & none could ID that scratching tune, I had the MP3 of the dub & last night I put little bits of the lyrics in YouTube & that record popped up for sale so played the mp3 again & yes was pretty sure I was right, messaged Ste Vertigo today and I never ask him for ID but just asked him if I was right & he got back to me today to say I was right to ;-)

track 26 just been ID on tuneID thanks to dancelica

Frankie "O" Generator - Dance To The Rhythm (Techno Happy Mix)

That's brilliant, if you manage to get the one I ID'd yesterday or this as an mp3 can you send me a link to my inbox, I've got the techno bass & Dynamo mix of dance to the rhythm but not that version, big respect to the fella for the final ID!
