where do I start, broke my tibia bone in me right leg on 27th November last year was comin back from a m8's house and took few steps out onto a road which had patches of sheet ice n my right leg jus buckled. Heard two cracks and was jus lying there lookin down at my right leg at an angle.

I was in middle of road first thing I did was pull myself to kerb in agony and reach for my mobile phoned my dad n had to be lifted to hospital. Had cast on for two weeks but I had an oblique fracture of tibia n fracture had widened so went for operation which is called " IM Nailing" consists of metal rod down thru tibia bone and two pins at bottom n one at top jus below knee.
Its been five weeks since op, dont want to rant anymore was wondering has any peeps broke a limb and when did they start weight bearing?

I am weight bearing with aid of one crutch but I think I am doin too much ahead of schedule! Had very mixed messages at hospital!

Anyone had similar nitemare experience??:S

Well at least in the future you won't be so gormless. Only joking mate I feel for you, I personally have never broken a bone in my body but my friend got his leg smashed in a road accident. Is there any chance of putting a claim in and getting some compo?

Lol bootleg! aye dont think I'll be doin much walking in snow/ice again after this I've learned a lesson:)

Feel now that there is light at end of tunnel, was gonna look into the compo stakes but these days you are sent for a pile of medicals to see if its genuine then again all they would need to do is look at my xray lol

Thanks peeps:thumbsup:
