A bit depressive i know but as we know we all DIE :$ ,if ya could choose an age were ya were to pass on what would be yours.My next door neighbour is touching 90 and hes a walking skeleton with eyes.Its a shame and sometimes wonder if he wishes he wasnt alive but probably clings on for the sake of his family or maybe not.

When i kick the bucket im hoping that ive had a innings of 80,dont fancy reaching 90 and definitley not 100.Theres always the theory of if ya healthy why not get out as much out of life as possible but how many 90 year olds are happy to still be breathing were alot of them are needing something to help them breathe and function.

back to the topic though, its not so much the age thing really. All depnds how well you are / if you're losing your faculties. I see countless elderly people through work and some of them have (what appears to be...) poor quailty of life, skeleton-thin, cant walk / eat properly, incontinent , riddled with dementia blah blah etc... seeing them like that breaks my heart, and I often wonder what they were like in their younger days etc... They could be some hot-shot lawyer / Doctor / sportsman blah blah in their day, or even just an 'ordinary' person, who knows, and its such a shame the ones who end up barely even recognising their own family or able to do anything for themselves. On that count, I would say I would not like to live so long that I end up like that. But on the other side of the coin, some of the oldies I know are the sprightliest things you've seen, still living life to the full , full of energy...more than me in fact, lol .
Another awful thing is the longer you live, the more you will be likely to see the ones you love dying around you as you outlive them. (Yes, That bit in 'Green Mile' always busts me up..) Now that bit I couldn't bear now, never mind in my twilight years when its 'expected'

I'm not so much scared of dying, more of what i'll die of, I suppose... :|

Nobody, NOBODY is guaranteed their '3 score years and 10' allocation. Nobody knows whats round the corner. Thats what sucks.

now thats a question and half, i would love to have a long life if i could keep my sanity, and im not sure that will happen the burning question is, i dont want to think i would out live any of my children but nor do i really cherish the thought of my kids losing thier dad without a good innings either i think i would be happy with 80 and think ive done well. i would be gutted if i popped my cloggs before, or soon after retirement but then i wouldn't really know as i dont belive in after life.

Bit brief and daft given the subject- but Jonno's Granny E (lolololz) is 90 and she walks into town most days for a razz round. She also goes on none stop holidays, does all her own Christmas shopping, cooking cleaning etc and drinks a bottle of wine most evenings. She is ace

Hopefully longer than my mother which is only 11 yrs away but long enough to see a little bit of my pension and retirement, mind you the way things are going at the moment itll be 70 before we get to retire!

But seriously, I'd like to work one way or another until my fingers drop off...it keeps you young if you have a 'point'...like that 100 year old guy on The One show...he was gyming it up, and held a world title for rowing (which he got this year).

I want to 'see' a century, I want to 'see' what humans can acheive in that time...It's because I'm nosey, and for that reason...I might do it!!!!!

I'm very curious about what actually happens when you die, do I look forward to it Nope but before having kids I really didnt care.
I have always been fascinated with death probably due to the amount of horror films I have watched since about the age of 13. Am i scared yes at the thought of leaving my children behind but thats about it.

I have grandmothers that are in the 90's but I dont think they were hitting up clubs n doig the things I used to haha So dont think Ill make it that far, but how we could all be wrong and MDMA could add 50 years on to yer life for all we know

If i'm reasonably fit and healthy and enjoying life then i'd like it to keep going, but if i'm not able to enjoy life then it would be nice to die in my sleep.

My dad died pretty young, but apart from him, both sides of the family seem to have good genes, so here's hoping for a long happy life for us all :beer:
