Ive been recording some of my records to computer this afternoon whilst working and I have come to Acen, Trip to the Moon releases.

What a load of over rated crap all 3 releases are. I have 3 original releases of pt 1, 2 of pt 2 and 1 of pt 3. Every single one of them is mint because im like most DJ's of the time, I never play them because they are crap. Im scared to mention this on Discogs as people are so anal about the records with the original promo of pt2 going for £100+. I would prefer to spend £100 getting realy pissed and pissing and throwing it all back up than spend that on an Acen track? Look at the detail some people have gone to on Discogs....WHY:cry:

I had heard 1 of the trip to the moon series played out, pt3 at World Dance August 92 when it was new and fresh....never since.

S, think I fancy making a couple of fruit bowls now;)

I used to slow my part 2 down to 33 and it was better played at that speed.

Still, my cat ended up shitting on it so i threw it out rather than clean it. :D

you used to hear the flip sides get played now and again, life and times of a roughneck on number 2 got a fair bit of play, and Grooverider opened his Book of love set with the B side of number 1 I recall...

Everything music wise after 93 is crap ?? Wow I would seriously hate to live in your mind, there's loads of awesome tracks released everyday and at least there made well unlike half of the stuff people made in the day with off midi timing and 22khz samples on shitty akai s950's... Still each to there own.

there is no way on earth i would drop either of those in a mix, they are grooveless, lack dynamics or any shock factor, not at trace of desperation, soul, longing, positivity, depth etc.
I dunno if these tracks are over-rated but, i think they are utter crap.

Post 93 i could only really respect Richie Hawtin, he could take 2 techno tracks that I'd consider to be lame and turn it into a proper house groove, - he could create the missing elements, total genius :king:
