Was listening to some tunes through a set of headphones for a change. Now one of my ears is hurting. I bet there's a lot of veteran ravers who have totally destroyed their hearing.

Kiss me brown eye
eh? what was that u said? :p

shotgun fire and loud exhausts / straight cut gearboxes in the track day cars i used to fart around in have slightly taken the higher range off my left side..
Still got hearing like a shitehawk for music but sometimes conversation gets a little muddled ...
In my favoured dancing spot in the Pier my right side faced the speaker stacks, so go figure

I was always found standing in front of the speakers. The sound waves would waft my clothes and hair.

I proper loved it, I was the first in the club and the last one out. Never get those days back. I feel old. I was planning on hitting a few clubs in the summer but the whole scene has changed. The younger clubbers (most of them) have bad attitudes and go out to cause trouble while theyre high on coke and alcohol. I might try one of the Retro nights.

deffo dave, i sometimes have trouble with convos in loud environments too. other than that tho my hearing seems to be bearing up quite well so far, given the abuse i've thrown at it over the years lol

Im only 28 but I never went out with the intention of causing trouble or using violence. Its the last thing you want when your pilled up.

I was talking to some guys only a few years younger than me, and their weekends cosist of cocaine, alcohol and violence. They said they love it.

I was once in dive of a club and some retard threw a bottle of water at me, I was off my tits and it spoiled my buzz. They thought it was funny.

Definately a Retro night, I see the posters up for them all the time. I think they do one in Halifax and Leeds.

Ive been djin for 18 yrs now and always really looked after my hearing. Ive never had my cans on loud .. ive picked up on how much some djs have their earphones on full blast whilst getting a bit carryed away! and iam thinkin "woooow calm down ur gonna be deaf mate"! and ive always turned em down , i always keep the monitors on low and the earphones to balance it all out.
Even at home i never turn the system up when iam doin mixes etc......

Always look after ur ears they are precious...

My hearing is fooked.....

Both ears have problems with ringing and tinnitus added to which general level of hearing are below where it should be. Im becoming very used to being called the deaf old git and my most commonly used word in conversation is What?

I have always tried to be careful with volumes down on headphones etc but years out in clubs has taken it toll especially clubs like the old Labyrinth in Dalston Lane which used to physically hurt

S....now back from a great holiday in Mauritius;)
