For what Zabiela does there's no-one to touch him... the guy with him is Nic Fanciulli I think, they often B2B... looks like Fanciulli is doing the mixing & James the FX (which he's taken to an artform in itself)

What ever he does it stays in sync it is the equipment that is doing the work pressing buttons you soon pick it up!....it is very random!.....
You have to build your own digital setup knowing where everything is having it at home messing about with it all the time!.....

Looks like a good day out to me i would not really dance but be sat on the back wall just chilling drinking a few beers unless that breaks tune came on (only for the open minded) i would get sick of hearing them effects over & over tho they should be used a lot less but then again there is other DJ's to listen to also!....
I just don't this scene get it at all. Every tune sounds like the one before it, and everyone wanks off coz the DJ plays with FX buttons. Ooooh a filter! What a legend! Just play the record and stop arsing about lol
What's happened to the music? Where's the melody? Where's the hook? It's just blerr blerr blerr. Tunes that last for 10 or 11 mins is just daft. 4 or 5 mins, and I'm ready for a new one.
Can just imagine a convo between two people the next day...

Got to agree with you there ILP. Even when i was going to a lot of techno nights in the mid 90s the tracks had something about them, some intelligent design if you will. I dont want to upset my online oldschool friends but the first Zabelia video is complete nonsense. Remember when acid house was unique.. different.. dangerous.. funk-filled and soulful? Correct me if im wrong but im not getting any of that from this guy.. Sorry.
The music isnt really my cup of tea either, I was more interested in the effort he puts into his show. I was a big fan of Sasha back in the day like most others but since the Rennaissance days finished Ive found his sets very dull and boring. People tell me its about the live remixing he does during the set but it doesn't really float my boat it just seems to drag out the dull song even longer. If I was to attend a night with newer music being played I would to think that Zabelia would at least give you a bit of entertainment factor with the enthusiasm he puts into making things a bit different for the crowd. I like scratching which helps lol, but if he fucks about with other new fangled gizmos it can only add to the show I think rather than nodding in front of somebody transfixed on a laptop screen for 2 hours grinding out some bleeps, think there is a lesson to all the budding button pressing djs out there. If I want to listen to music on a night out with melody and vocals etc I will attend an Oldskool night or a concert, but if I was to go to a newer sounding event this is what I would want.
Plenty of melody in the newer stuff out there Bod, if yer look in the right places..

The music he plays i am not into either but that first tune i would stick in Breaks mix with real live scratching over it & you would not really notice i can understand you are hearing from that tune from a Minimal Techno point of view i am hearing it from a Breaks point of view i would enhance that tune in a Breaks set!...
He did play it for to long i thought that also when it got to the end of the video he did not mix the next tune in quick enough,i do not like over use of digital effects but & it's a BIG BUT i know they can be used in a good way at the right time in the right places i do feel he gets a little over excited!...he looks a nice guy so i am not going to disrespect him & end of the day he is getting gigs so good on him!....
About a day out there i would rather be in a room with music i am not keen on with great people having a great time than being in a room with music i love & people fighting argueing etc thats why i like going out to OSA nights i am not a House head i do like it but i am very selective with it,i would rather be there amongst OSA people who are there for a great time!....
If people want to ask what tune did they hear last night i do not see what is funny about that they are simply talking about tunes they like same as anyone else does!.....
