Mixers ! How many channels you got & how many do you actually use ?

I've got a 3 channel mixer but only really use 2 regularly... for space I'd like to trim down to a slim 2 channel but something in the back of my head would still want a 3 channel (even though I rarely use it).

4 channels. 3 used all the time. 2 x decks and a midi controller. Also have a midi keyboard that is connected to it.

Got me an Allen & Heath S2 and is set up as follows

Ch1 LH Pioneer CDJ 800mk2
Ch2 LH 1200 mkII
Ch3 RH 1200 mkII
Ch4 RH Pioneer CDJ 800mk2 / 3rd 1200mkII

This set allow me to use CDJ's and 1200 together without need for line/phono swapping. Mic chanels not used.

A&H S2 is a great mixer, highly recommended and amazing sound quality.

I have 4 decks- one of which is two in one

IE

I have 2 x 1210s
1 x pioneer
1 x dennon which is 2
SO i have 2 channels doing twice the works which i have to switch between
The middle channel i just use for the Pioneer

Could do with a 6 channel mixer really

I'm afraid i've just got the old-fashioned xone62.

Whats nice is that it is built in the style of Urie 1620 ie inside is a series of cards which plug into each other. It is a poor mans Allen & Heath S6 (which was about £3,000) beyond my budget!!

Only complaint is the positioning of the headphone jack on top however I use the one underneath so does not bother me. This mixer was released the same time roughly as the Xone62 but did not get the same fuss. For general use, some people dont like the layout, that its 19inch and only 9 high and that its an installation mixer ie that the outputs are on the back not the top so ut does not sit on a flat surface but has to be cut in (installed). The sound is better than 62's, cards can be replaced if needed and it has been designed for the hard wear of a club so will last for ages.

4 channels on mine, 5 if u include the mike i spose, but i only use the 2 my technics are plugged in to. mp3s are the devil's work lol
